The container was impossible to get out of the hole with the lid on. It took quite an effort to get the lid off and then we could barely get the container out. We move it across the path to a curved root covered by rocks. It is a smaller tree with a two foot stump beside it.

Had to wrestle Bullfinch out of its hiding place since the tree is growing around the opening. Moved it across the trail to the tunnel root of a small leaning tree. Looked and looked for Green Woodpecker. Could not locate this bird. Hope he is still out there. Thanks for the plants.

We wore ourselves out on this hot day trying to figure out where to start. Think we found the right area for Green Woodpecker but no luck finding the right tree. Plan to return with fresh legs on a cooler day. Loved the area.

So cool!

Great series! A lovely wooded hike especially this time of year, we even saw some deer! Box #2 was worth the search we gave for it. All logbooks in good/dry shape. A second book has been placed in #3. Several trees down on these trails including the one with the trail signs at the second footbridge. Still a great hike!

Very nice wooded hike. The pine tree preceding the first box has fallen. Especially nice location for the second box.

Everything ok! Thanks for planting. Lovely walk on the river.

Found 1 and 3. But #2 we were lost. Fell upon #3.

Found these two and went back and replaced the container for the third.

Found the third one. Didn't look too hard for the first two, but will try again soon. The container for Blue Tit was destroyed and the baggies are getting holes in them, so the log was damp. Will replace the container and baggies on my next trip out there.
