We unfortunately did not find this box. It's been a while since someone has found it and I think the area has grown up a bit since the planter wrote the clues. We had difficulty figuring out what area was the "open forest clearing" and we couldn't figure out if it was supposed to be a stump or a tree with 4 trunks. Not to mention the mosquitoes and the RAMPANT poison ivy that made searching rather difficult. The box may still be there but it wasn't worth the risk of guaranteed poison ivy. It was a nice walk...if we had had bug spray!

Thanks for the nice hike. Note the stump is getting very rotted. And if someone hasn't reported it, someone must have accidentally absconded with the original Kernsville Dam stamp, and left a HH behind which has taken over as the primary stamp/log book. Kinda like a cuckoo. :)
