****These boxes have been re-planted in South Yarmouth. If you have the old clues for North Harwich, you will need to re-print.****
Time: About 45 minutes (including stamping time)
This is a kid-friendly series with a logbook & pen only in the last box. The letterboxes all have Spanish names. If you don’t know Spanish, no problem, you’ll find out what the words mean in English when you see the stamps in the boxes. Have fun!
Ninos, ninos, que ven ahi? What did the children see?
To find out:
From Off-Cape:
Take Route 6 (East) to Exit 8. Turn Right onto Station Ave.
From Ptown:
Take Route 6 (West) to Exit 8. Turn Left onto Station Ave.
Once on Station Ave (from the exit ramps), turn Left at the first set of lights onto White's Path. Follow White's Path to the end (stop sign there). Take a left onto North Main Street (which immediately turns into North Dennis Road). Take the third road on the left - Great Western Road. Follow Great Western Road to the second road on the Right - Joel Road - it is marked with a street sign. Follow Joel Road all the way to the end & park at the basketball hoop. Please remember to be respectful of the neighbors & drive slowly.
The children saw……
Oso Pardo:
From the basketball hoop, find the path around the rocks. Follow this trail to the choice. Go 11 steps down the Left trail. On the left, you will see two rocks, one on top of the other. Box #1 will be in the cranny on the right of the bottom rock.
Pajaro Rojo:
Continue on this trail, pass a trail on your left & go downhill. At the bottom, before you go up again, look to the left for a lone Oak with deadwood at its base. Look here for Box #2.
Pato Amarillo:
Continue on going up & down a small hill; then up a large hill and down again. Just before you meet another trail, on the right, spy a tall Oak with a dead standing sidekick. Look under the fallen sidekick of this Oak for Box #3.
Caballo Azul:
From here, turn Right. Follow the trail downhill and through the charred trees to the trail on your left. Go back 12 steps to a quadruple cluster of trees on your right. Find Box #4 under the dead tree "X" in the quadruple cluster.
Rana Verde:
Walk towards the Cape Cod Pathways emblem on the Oak on the right side of the trail. Continue past it, pass a trail on your right, go uphill again & around a corner. Then spy a quadruple cluster of 2 large and 2 skinny Oaks. Look within for Box #5.
Gato Morado:
Continue along the trail, passing a large trail on the left. When you get to the next, smaller trail on the left, go 20 steps down this trail. Spy a large triangle of downed trees slightly left. Look between the rock and one of the angles of the triangle for Box #6.
Perro Blanco:
Return to the MAIN TRAIL & continue along going downhill. About halfway down the hill, look right for a large Oak with a very small, dead sidekick & 2 moss-covered rocks. Find Box #7 on the left side of the front rock.
Oveja Negra:
Continue along the trail a short way to the next choice. Take the Left trail and follow it until you reach another trail on the right. From this trail, continue another 50 steps, passing the red pipe on your right, to a trio of Oaks on the left. Find Box #8 within.
Pez Dorado:
GO BACK up the trail, past the red pipe & trail on the left and uphill back to the choice. This time go straight (do not go right). Pass a small boulder on your left. Seven steps before a very short trail on your left, spy a rock on your left. Look behind it for Box #9.
Nuestra Maestra:
Continue on, passing the very short trail on your left & going uphill to the next choice. Go left. When you reach the rock barrier, find the split rock. Underneath this rock, on the left half of the split, find Box #10.
***As always, please remember to be discreet & re-hide well.***
