The Coquille River Lighthouse is a lighthouse I stopped at primarly because I had carved a stamp of it, so I
had to hide the letterbox near it. It's a nice lighthouse and the area is unarguable beautiful. For more information about the area, check out
http://www.bandonoregon.info.
Directions
To get to the lighthouse (and letterbox), drive three miles north of Bandon on Highway 101 (or south of Coos Bay 21 miles), and turn west at a Bullards Beach State Park sign. Drive past the campground entrance and picnic areas to the end of the road where there's a parking lot just short of the lighthouse.
Clue
From the parking lot, find an old, abandoned structure on the north side of the lot. The letterbox is hidden under a relatively large rock at the base of the tree behind the structure. Be sure to replace the box under the rock, not just to hide it from non-letterboxers, but also so it won't blow away in those fierce Oregon Coast storms!
