No, this is NOT the more famous Eagle Creek found in the Columbia River Gorge. But it is a nice walk along a creek with pretty trees and all that. It's a pretty hike, but nothing especially noteworthy like waterfalls or scenic views. By Oregon standards, it's kind of boring.
Directions to trailhead from 224: Turn left onto Wildcat Mt Road shortly after entering Eagle Creek. Left on Eagle Fern Road, which eventually turns into George Road--9.2 miles. Harvey Road is on the right, turn eastward. Pavement ends--logging road for 2.4 miles. MOST OF THE TURN OPTIONS HAVE BEEN BLOCKED ON THIS STRETCH. Stay on the main route. At 2.4 miles you will come to a 'Y', park here. The old road to the right is what you want to take. This is a very poor road--don't drive it. It is approximately a mile down this old roadway to the original trailhead.
Beyond the road and the tiki head, you'll cross two wooden foot bridges. Just after the second footbridge, there will be a large tree on your left. Very large. And next to it is another large tree which had fallen over the path. Hike up the hill to the exposed roots of this tree, and the letterbox is entwined in the roots.
Hike Length: 6.0 miles
Elevation Gain: 1000 feet
