My future aunt.....in-law....gave us a case with a whole bunch of stamp dye in it. All sorts of colors! She had it in a case that we can use for our letterboxing stuff. Isn't that awesome? We love it!!!!!!!!! Did anyone else get letterboxing themed gifts?

To start, Happy Daze spent Christmas Eve day letterboxing in NH and ME. We found 5 of 7 boxes that we were looking for.

As for Christmas, we had a somehwat LB Christmas. We exchanged carving material. She gave me some markers and envelopes for my upcoming postals. I gave her a new carving set so we each have our own.

But all in all, Happydaze had a great Christmas and look forward to LB'ing in 2007.

Hope to see you all on the trails in 2007!!!!

Happy New Year!!!!!

My husband is sure that I am going to get lost one of these days. So he gave me a digital compass for Christmas. I'd never seen one before and it is cool - has temperature, time, date, etc. on it.

My wonderful husband got me 3 colorbox ink pads, Le Plumme II Marvy markers, carving material (speedy stamp, that is all he could find locally) photo albums for all my postal stamps and a desk lamp for carving. I am so happy, is this the best Christmas ever?!! My mom got me carving material (master carve) and lock & locks. She felt bad that she got some of the large storage containers, not really understanding what I was using them for and not getting the smallest sizes that I ask for. Oh well my husband has his eye on them for his fishing and fly tying supplies.

My sweet, wonderful husband got me the most beautiful leather journal. I can't do it justice in words, but it's on the first page of this website: http://www.oberondesign.com At first I was nervous about the idea of stamping anything into it, but then I realized you can remove the cover and replace the book inside. I'm going to start using it on January 1st. Which means, of course, you know what I'll be doing on New Year's Day!

YAh - and I got a years subscription for premium membership from an overly zealous D5 mama!!! Thank ya!!
She did it so cutely!!! She carved the feather in the cap and put it inside a pretty Christmas ornament, and put it on the tree. Then I had to go "find" my gift!" Awesome!!!!

She also got my DH his own set of carving tools and some markers, in hopes that we can get him more interested in letterboxing!!! (ALthough once he realized that this is not just a "female" sport, he actually shows more interest in it!! He helped me scope out a possible planting area last weekend!) And of course, we are ALL going to the Cape to scope out that Christmas Tree - Can't wait!!!!

I had ask for one of these for christmas I even left the web site name and color of the one that I wanted posted on the computar but I did not get it. But it is OK I just ordered it for myself, my current logbook is almost full. It was a great christmas anyway just no LB supplies.

As for the books the first and only gathering that I went to here in the PNW there were 1/2 a dozen of those logbooks floating around (in there owners hands of course) of all different styles and colors. They looked and held up great to the letterboxer (some people had theirs for some time and had a refill in it) So after seeing everyone elses I would say use it, I plan to when I get mine.

My husband, who has not carved before, had each of our kids (3 1/2 and 5 1/2) give him an idea for a cootie stamp, to plant at the gather we are going to in Feb. He then carved the "Ariel cootie" and the "Guinea Pigs Galore" cootie, wrapped them up and gave me a clue to find them--the kids picked their hiding places.

The only glitch is the kids are now not sure they want to me to "give them up" as cooties, so if we can't convince them, they may become personal travelers or a bonus box or something!!!

I gave a coptic stitch logbook and a handcarved stamp to my nephew Diesel for Christmas (along with a collapsible bowl and orange blazed vest). My sister in law cried in delight.... which was surprising since she's a muggle and would never go out boxing with him.....

I'm sure that the letterboxing kit was the talk at the Christmas Day table with her family! Maybe when I wasn't there, she was laughing hysterically over the fact that Diesel got a letterboxing kit for Christmas...... They like to make fun of me when it comes to letterboxing anyway.......LOL

P.S. Did I mention that Diesel is a yellow lab?

Wow! Everyone got letterboxing related stuff! I didn't.........

Oh Wait! I did get something related: a mini leatherman to put in my boxing bag!!!!!!

However, I did get a garage door opener and subsequently a garage door (since my garage doesn't have enough clearance for an opener without renovations of the garage opening), and two visits by a maid service, and four hours of Clutter Doctor......

Evidentally my boyfriend and family wants me to clean my house......

OOOHHHHH.... They are beautiful!!!!!!! Do they have lines on the pages?

If it does, I suppose I could buy one for the leather cover, then make a coptic stitch journal to fit so it doesn't have lines.....
