53% Dixie, which isn't bad considering I grew up about as far from that as possible - Northern Wisconsin! But I say y'all a lot (and get made fun of for it), and apparently the rest of the world says "caught" weird!

Well, I only got 60% on this. Still above average, but then I didn't grow up in Appalachia; I just got here as quickly as I could. ;-)

I'm only 19% Dixie (a Duke of Yankeedom) on the advanced test. They missed one variant, though—here in MN a rubber band is called a "rubber binder," which still grates on my nerves (as does "Duck, Duck, Grey Duck," but that's a whole other conversation). And oddly enough my husband calls a spigot a "spicket." His mom and grandma both say "warsh" and "squarsh."

Oooh. Here's one - is a peony a "PEE-yun-nee," or a "pee-YO-nee?"

about the pronunciation of the word "peony," well.....here around central/southern Indiana, it's often pronounced "PINE-ee." Piney. No "eee" sound in there at all! ha!

You've got to look at some of the responses to the answers! You can choose them temporarily and see the response before choosing your true response.

On "What do you pack for travel?", one choice is "My spouse packs for me." If you choose this, the response is "Mine does, too."

On calling something as a great example, the choice "Da Bomb" gives you, "You are probably too young to pass this test."

On pronouncing Monday, choice "Lunes" gives you, "You speak Spanish. Why are you taking this test?"

On this test, my score was "15% Dixie. Wow! You are a Duke of Yankeedom!"

I scored 31% on the regular but only 11% on the advanced.......A true Northerner!!!

49% Dixie here (which accounts for an about a third of my life being spent between the Northeast, the Midwest and the South/Southwest). I'll have to run this by the Highlander when he gets home and see what he comes up with!
