Postcrossing bumming me out :-)
Board: Postcrossing, not Cross-posting!

I've been a member of Postcrossing about 60 days now and have sent like 26 postcards. But I've only received 11. I received 1 postcard the entire month of July, and that was around the 3rd. It feels like PostCrossing went on vacation and didn't tell me. :-)

Is this common?

From the FAQ it sounded like most people received around 5 less than they've sent. Or so. At least more than half.

I'm waiting until all 6 of my travelling cards are received (or time out) before I send more. That or when I get a postcard myself.

It's hard to stay excited about sending cards when I get little in return. :-)

Thanks for listening to me whine. -- Maos

July was an EXTREMELY slow month for me also, and a number of people in the Postcrossing group on Flickr said the same thing. My numbers are 331 sent and 313 received, a difference of 18. That is very similar to your 15, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I think part of the problem is that there are so many Postcrossing members in the USA, and people only get one USA address at a time (for the most part) to send to, so there may be a backlog of USA addresses waiting to be given out.

I know it is difficult to wait, and even after more than 2+ years, I am still disappointed when I open my mailbox and don't find any postcards. You could try getting into trades on the Postcrossing forum. It's not exactly the same, but it does help ease some of that impatience. :)

Thanks! I needed to hear that I'm not alone. Especially as my DH has taken to bringing in the mail and just saying "nope" before I can even ask if there's a card, postal, or LTC in the mail. :-) I think he will be as glad as I am when the drought ends.
