donation box
Board: State: New York

Thread (disabled) Board
Sometime befoer Christmas, Gweny and I decided to create a donation box for our local Humane Society. I carved the stamp. We put the box together and presented it to ONE of the board members at the building.

Unfortuantely, due to weather and other concerns, it kept getting pushed to the back burner at mmetings and never got full approval from the board. We stopped in to check on it, and it is now up and running YEAH!!!

so if you are in the Mohawk/Herkimer/Little Falls/St.Johnsville/etc. AREAS, please grab somethings from the wish list and head out to the Herkimer County Humane Society to help out the animals and find a box too!

I wonder who will be first to find a box that has existed over 6 months with no finders? Hmmmmm....

IT'S A CHALLENGE LOCAL BOXERS!!!

well first TOM has not ventured this far east to get any of my boxes....HINT HINT HINT team Phoenix

AND the box won't be available until tomorrow, it had to get final approval from the board and they only talk about fundraising on certain days.....

So i am thinking churchguysNprincesses or Karensport or Cat Woman.....maybe Gypsy Travelers, Hey how about some of the newer boxers.....

I guess we will have to wait and see :o)

Hmmm - what a great idea. I have been driving by our Humane Society thinking what a neat lace to plant. Now for a VERY good reason!!! Do you mind if I "borrow" your idea?!!!

Actually, the kids "pack up" quite nicely--most days:). The thing that sometimes limits us is our rule that we letterbox all together, or not at all!! We have broken that one only once, but never to be first finders on a box!! In fact, as our kids, especially the 6 year old, are in the "me first" kind of mode, we try to stress the fun parts of what we do and that getting there first is not so important, etc.

That being said, Lock Wench owes someone some money, because churchguysNprincesses were, in fact, the FIRST FINDERS of that box!!! (says competitive mom, who is secretly doing a little happy dance, despite above attitude with kids!!)

Thanks CathCainGwen for the opportunity to donate to a worthy cause--we are going to make it a regular activity. Thanks also for a neat box, where there was a nice table to stamp in. Thanks also to the Humane Society who had a cage of 4 week old kittens on said table and now kids want a kitten!!

:)

those cute little kittens were there last week as well! Congrats churchguysNprincesses,

for finding the box and RESISTING the temptation of kittens and how could you say no to the beautiful little princess???

I actually had batted this idea around and then presented it to the shelter and waited and waited, then noticed someone else had a box in their local food pantry with the same idea....I think GREAT minds think alike :o) and please do "steal" it, because I am sure someone else did it before me too!
