I went on an expedition with my daughters this morning. My oldest is almost 6 years old, and she's keeping a photo journal about the places she goes during her summer vacation. So, we combine her photo journal project with letterboxing. Today we went to her "favorite park". It was raining a little, but by the time we finished our lunch under the shelter, the rain had stopped.

My oldest daughter spotted a trail and insisted we take it. This is unlike her, but I agreed because I needed to find a place to hide the letterbox. On the way back out she climbed up this big rock and my other two daughter followed behind. We sat on the rock wall while I wrote out notes for the clue. My three year old was playing with my hair. "I put a leaf in your hair, mommy," she said while I busily wrote my notes.

I felt it fall out and turned to ask, "What did you have in my hair, honey?" but that's when I saw it.... A 6 inch sprig of poison ivy!

We left, drove to the nearest gas station and washed everyone's exposed body parts with soap and water.

Just another reminder that letterboxing is not always recommended for toddlers! :)

One could say that your daughter made a rash decision about your attire, QP!

What an adorable story QP!! I *HOPE* that this adorable story doesn't lead to any nasty itchy rash!!!

That's one thing I am always worried about when we go to plant or find......hoping we don't "accidentally" get into anything poison!!!

Keeping you in our thoughts!!

With Peace,
