Dixie....

I am not being a baby. If I met this thing in the woods I would be fine. But it's on my Terrible Towel! And, it's baby-poop green. And it has a rectangular butt.

it's this hideous yellow thing that pittsburgh steelers fans twirl in the air.

it is nothing close to the glorious golden color of the green bay packers uniforms ;)

I know you're kidding Dixie... no worries.

Here's a description of the Terrible Towel:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrible_Towel

The bottom pic on that page, the commemorative towel, is what this thing was roosting on.

I found him. I'm learning to like this guy. He's not so bad. He's out on a tree outside my office.

He's not that creepy once you get over the whole soul-eating thing.

Quote *chuckle*
I love it when men are big babies
*more chuckles*

Ryan is always finding and killing and getting upset about bugs in our apartment.

Ryan "do you SEE that"
Me "huh?"
Ryan "That THING on the wall! Ohmygod!"
Me "what, where?"
Ryan "THERE can't you see that!! Give me a towel, I'll kill it"
Me "where? what it is?"
Ryan kills the bug the size of a pin point and can relax now

Maybe because I used to live in Florida where the lizards and bugs had the run of the house and you just hoped they let you coexist in peace...We are talking huge flying roach-type things! I had to shake out my shoes every morning!! A tiny bug the size of a pin point doesn't bother me. Ryan's family leaves food out on the countertop in the kitchen. I can't imagine doing that. In the South, something would carry it away within 30 minutes. We were always fighting the roaches and the mice and a multitude of other bugs. I was so happy to come to the Pacific Northwest...no roaches, no mice (at least not in my house) It's wonderful.

It's a Sphinx Moth. Some of these babies are absolutely gorgeous, lovely colors and incredible patterns. Just consider yourself lucky to have had a visitation from such a special creature.

Yeah, I learned to like the little dude. (Actually it was a chick. They're much bigger than the dudes.) It was just a little disturbing when the light dimmed in the room like a cloud had passed over the flourescents.

I've just never seen a moth that big. I spent about 30 mins off and on looking at him on the tree outside. The colors on his wings were really deep. Cool stuff.

Then it could be a personal travler - and people could have to identify what a "terrible towel" is.

C'mon Yuk - you can do it.

I'm glad I stumbled on this thread. I have a visitor too that I don't know what it is. It's not nearly as big as Mr. Yuk's friend. Any clues on what it is?

Ok, I'll carve the thing. It's not like I won't be placing another order through stampeaz today anyway. One of the bad things about such a good product is that I can't stop carving. All the white paper in my house is inky.

Looks like I'll have to steal some more office supplies.
