My dad has a Ph.D. in Mathematics.
My dad's current wife has a Master's Degree in Math and Teaching (or something like that).
My sister has a Masters Degree in Math Education or Gifted Math Education something, something.
I went to law school. This makes me the "black sheep" of the family, even though I can actually do the math. They do math problems as parlor games. Really.

>>I teach 2nd grade, but we're the only 2nd grade in our area that does algebra on a regular basis. I love it, and therefore my class loves it!
Bravo! I homeschool my soon-to-be 5th grader, and he completed a calculus workbook last year. He loves math. Luckily, he has a mother/teacher who loves the subject, too. I can feed his curiosity and answer his questions. I have a lot of opinions on this subject, but I am going to keep them to myself. I don't want to ruffle any feathers. ;o)
