How 'bout next time you come down to Birmingham you can show me how to huff, then?

I can tell my friends "this weekend I am going to experiment with huffing with someone I met on the internet."

It would be worth it just to make that announcement.

That definition makes me feel silly.

I just may treat my next hand-carved stamp with arrogance or contempt in a mood of sulking or anger.

(seriously though, thanks for looking that up)

I added huffing to the glossary. Not sure it's a very good definition, but at least it's an official letterboxing word, now!

I don't recommend that people sniff glue and such stuff, though. But wow, that rubber cement--I enjoyed using that a lot as a kid. =)

On, now I do not like rubber cement. In 4th grade, I used it to finish a project just before going to bed. So, all night long I smelled the fumes. The next day at school I had a 102 fever and couldn't see straight. So, I haven't really been a fan of rubber cement since then.

Nope, the big bad wolf huffs and puffs and blows the house down over here too.

We also go off in a huff after an argument.

And best of all we have been telling newbies to huff on their stamps for eons :-)

I'm probably showing my age here, but what about the smell of mimeographs? Remember those back in the days before copy machines? The fresh ones would be cold and a bit damp in your hands as the blue ink (or the fixative) dried, and we'd all smash our noses to the paper and inhale deeply while Sister Conradine (I am NOT making up that name!) railed that we were killing brain cells by doing so.

Ah, good times, good times.....

I loved the smell of mimeographs! 8-) There's a scene in Fast Times at Ridgemont High (I think, or it could be some similar movie) where the teacher is handing out fresh papers and every single kid picks them up and sniffs.

Good times...

PZKut is a medium I have not yet tried, only because I have not run across it. I like to buy what I can see (Hobby Lobby, Michaels, etc.) and I've bought from MisterArt.com. I tried to buy from Stampeze this morning to try the PZCut, but I don't mess with PayPal. Perhaps I'll look around and find it somewhere else.

Sorry, Perdu, stampeaz.com is the only place you can get PZ Kut.

No, actually it has been a rubberstamping term for many years.

Way before letterboxing even crossed the ocean, rubberstampers have been hand coloring their stamps and "huffing" to reactivate the ink.

Therefore, it definitely belongs in the LB glossary!

"huffing" seems to be a UK letterboxing term meaning "to breathe lightly on a stamp to dampen the ink". I recently came across a United Kingdom letterbox site called "CLUELIST NEWS". http://www.judikh.karoo.net/#Terms Click on Stamps & Carving, look for How to use multicoloured stamps. Ho'nehe

Oh, yeah! Nothing but the best for you, huh? :-) I loved helping my brother build his model planes which he would promptly set on fire after "crash landings".

Nothing like the smell of burning plastic on a hot Georgia afternoon...

Boy, will she ever! I ordered some PZ:B from her along with a new logbook, and got them in 2 days. She repacked it to save on shipping and refunded the difference, and didn't have to. It was my first time ordering or using PZ:B as I always use pink, but my next plant will be my 50th and I wanted to check out PZ for that box. It came so quick that I didn't even have a design yet. I do now, but I didn't yesterday. I am still not sure about PZ over pink, but I am sure where my next batch of carving block is coming from. (didn't even have to drive to Hobby Lobby) Stampeaz.com is the way to go, and Webfoot is the bomb!

I knew a guy who worked in the prison system. Their problem was keeping the inmates from DRINKING the stuff! You'd catch the guy and he'd say "Oh, no, boss, it wasn't me drinking the fluid!" but his lips and tongue told a different story!

Gave myself a nice chemical burn across my forehead with 'ye ol rubber cement....and a kid in my high school put some on his hand and set it on fire. I think we got out of school early that day - you know with all the smells and firetrucks......

I guess you, as a 4th grader, figured that your bedroom was an "open, well-ventilated area"?? ;-)

But regardless, I still use rubber cement when working on paper projects. Nothing like a "rubber high" to make you whistle while you work!

I remember friends of mine, when out driving. He would be driving. She had the map

He would ask, "Do I turn left here?"

She would say "That's right, Frank", meaning "that's correct"

But of course, he would turn right. Then get mad at her for getting lost.
