Yesterday was my 40th (GASP!) birthday and I didn't really get to do anything of my choosing at all. I had all these other obligations that needed tending to. Sigh.

But that's not the point of my story! I didn't want ANYTHING for my birthday. All I asked for was that we go letterboxing all day today (Sunday) and that Mr. Gryffindor and the kids get the tar taken off the rear panels of my van. But secretly, I thought that they should definitely plant a letterbox for me. But nothing... all day. Sigh. How lame!

Then right before bed, Mr. Gryffindor asked oh-so-casually if I wanted to check the computer once more before he shut it down. And there are my 2 birthday boxes! He enlisted the help of our boxninja friends and together they got 2 boxes done for my birthday. They even titled them "Don't poke the bear" which is what they say to each other all the time when they are getting me riled up. Yea for me!

We're off shortly to go find them (and hopefully many more). It would be tragic if someone else was first finder on MY birthday boxes! :-)

Happy Birthday Carianna! I'm almost exact 6 months older than you--today is my HALF birthday. :-)

I completely agree that the best gifts (for those of us helplessly addicted) involve letterboxing. On my birthday and on Mother's Day, I always declare that I want my family to join me for a whine-free letterboxing day. :-) It's the best gift ever!

Awesome that Mr. Gryffindor was able to find the help to plant some boxes in your honor. My sister in Connecticut enlisted the help of Red's Bunch down here to have a box planted for my 40th in December and it was TERRIFIC! I know you're on Cloud 9.

We're back! Sweaty, scratched, and sticky... but 1 plant and 7 finds later! :-)

We were first finders on my bday boxes, and those tricky boxninjas slipped in a "Pirate Looks At 40" hitchhiker (Jimmy Buffet reference) for a first finders bonus. Haha, very funny. All in all, a fabulous day! And no... no birthday cake. Better! Fettucini alfredo! :-)
