Last weekend, my two girls spent the night at Grandma's house. While they were there I knew they would be going with to the cemetery while their Grandparents planted flowers for Memorial Day. So naturally I wanted to give them a heads up about what to expect and what I expected of them. I explained that they would be helping plant flowers by some headstones, what Memorial Day was, and that we plant flowers to show our respect and that we remember our loved ones.
After which, J said "Huh! I thought you could only put letterboxes there!"

Umm, I went with my elderly aunt and uncle to the cemeteries on MD, and we checked up on our letterboxes while we were there...

I think your kids will be just fine!

That's funny! But it's not just for kids. We've found a couple of boxes in or near cemetaries and now every time I drive by one I can't help but wonder....

That's our family MO. We were driving through a beautiful little town last weekend, saw a sign for an out-of-the-way cemetary and knew we were on the track. Upon checking, it is a marvelous spot with some most unusual markers, statuary, etc. and the perfect spot to the side. Box is ready to go as soon as we get back to the town to get it planted.

LOL, the first four boxes we found were in cemeteries! Great stone walls I guess....
My 5 yo had more questions about the head stones than letterboxing. : /
