Anyone live in the area of Westwood?
Asking for a friend who I think I might have coerced into joining the fun.

As long as there’s no alcohol at the event, he’d probably behave. I’d just ogle him from afar, anyway!

How about “Brad Pitt will be attending the event you signed up for!” That’ll make people read it!

If it said The Rock. We all have preferences. And then I would have “a rock” lol

I wonder if Ryan could add a button to the sign-up page that read something like ...

"You will be sent a last-minute reminder to reconfirm your attendance." By clicking this box [insert check box] you understand you will be expected to reconfirm your intention when the last-minute reminder is sent (event organizer chooses the drop-dead date to reconfirm). "If I fail to reconfirm I understand there may not be accommodations for me."

Event planning can be expensive for hosts. It's only polite to show your appreciation by showing up and paying it forward. How much would you spend for a full-day or weekend of family fun activities? Letterboxing is a bargain in my book.

If I understand correctly, this is a great suggestion. When you sign up initially, you have reserved a spot. 30 days or so before the event, AQ will send a reminder to either finalize your sign up, or be automatically removed from the roster. Is that about right?

You’re rather insulting. I shared my opinion!!! It seems you don’t like it. That’s cool. I don’t really care. But do you really need to call me names, insult my intelligence. No!!!! You don’t. But that seems to be the Way of the love and acceptance side.

God bless ya. Have a nice day

To summarize the linked conversation (linked below):
1) uneksia: There was an ongoing investigation that was closed in 2019
2) I wrote: If uneksia's statement is complete then the Biden administration could have released the files.
3) dingus dufus: Her statement is a complete statement.
4) heartsquare: Ghislaine Maxwell's appeal held up the files during Biden's term.

So, by 1, 2 & 3 the Epstein files could be released; by 4, they could not be.

For those wishing to see the actual quoted text.

Is an investigation and an appeal process the same thing?

But I was only seeing how long I could string this inane accounting along. Jiggle the keys all you want . .

No, that conversation is OBE because the bill has passed the congress and will be signed into law soon.

Here is The Epstein files: What do we know about what could be included?

The summary of information to be released (and it is just a summary) it too long to include here. However, all y'all will be interested in these parts, near the end:
The DOJ can also withhold material that "would constitute a clearly unwarranted invasion of personal privacy" or "depicts or contains child sexual abuse," according to the bill.

However, the bill does contain language that stipulates, "no record shall be withheld, delayed, or redacted on the basis of embarrassment, reputational harm, or political sensitivity, including to any government official, public figure, or foreign dignitary."

The measure also states the Attorney General may withhold or redact info that "would jeopardize an active federal investigation or ongoing prosecution, provided that such withholding is narrowly tailored and temporary."

For any materials it chooses to withhold or redact, the DOJ is required, within 15 days of their public release, to outline its justifications for doing so.

And according to the article linked above, item four (from previous conversation) was correct:
Also cited by the government for its denial of new FOIA requests was the criminal prosecution of Ghislaine Maxwell and her appeals that followed.

I like this idea. I wouldn’t remove anyone from sign up. But I can send a 30 day reminder out. ❤️

insult my intelligence

Do you hold your "greatest president since Washington" to the same standards as you do to letterboxers? Care to guess who the people are that he most frequently calls "low IQ" tend to be? It is an obvious pattern. It's a dog whistle for certain people. The "Quiet, Piggy" to a female reporter on Air Force One a couple of days ago was also a nice change of pace from the person who represents America.

Should we just follow the example he sets? Other than the lying, corruption, grifting, womanizing . . .

Here's your pseudo-semi-annual reminder to check your letterboxing clue external links for accuracy.

Google drive, personal websites, shutterfly, and others can change their link script and then your links point to a dead zone of internet. Your boxes aren't found. And your stamps turn to mush!

Also, if you use Google Drive, make sure your links work for others. Open a browser in incognito mode and try following your google links. If you don't get the file (or the ask for permission google section) then you need to change your file settings.

Best,
Curtis!

How would you star rate this book?

Oof. How would I star rate Fantasticland? I hesitate to give rating, just as I don't rate letterboxes--my opinions switch all the time!!

About half way through the book and I am still recommending it to folks. If I had to rate it, I'd give it a solid 3.75, mostly because I am waiting for it to go awry.

I plan on keeping this one, and I have limited book space, if that helps.

The party of love and acceptance
God bless ya little heart

I have to step in and address this. I get so tired of the Right thinking they score points with this little 'Gotcha". The phrase "party of love and acceptance" is used by Republicans in a sarcastic way to highlight perceived hypocrisy or conditional inclusivity within the party. Democrats don't go around spouting this.

There is no hypocrisy. We do believe in inclusivity but that doesn't make us doormats and it certainly doesn't mean that we ignore our common sense. Just as there is free speech and yet there are many things that are prohibited (child pornography, hate speech, speech integral to illegal conduct, speech that incites lawlessness and of course yelling fire in a crowded theater). So, too, can we be 'inclusive' without having to accept every vile person that comes along.

We do believe in love, acceptance and inclusion. But we are not required to include bigots, xenophobes, racists, Nazis, people who are trying to tear down our country while calling themselves patriots, child pornographers, etc.

So please, stop the childish and disingenuous taunt. It's silly and ridiculous.

By the way, you never answered my question; what are all of the great things Trump has done?
