You're right it is better to go with the flow. The problem with that being that *the flow* keeps getting faster. :)

I heard a few months ago that a guy up north donated his Volvo to a museum with a million miles on it. This was somewhere around the Great Lakes. The car still ran fine but he got afraind of structural weakness due to the salt on the roads. He was afraind it wouldn't survive a wreck but he drove it to the museum.
