Quote ACTUALLY, THE EASIER WAY IS TO HOLD BOTH HANDS IN FRONT OF YOU WITH THE PALMS AWAY, AND THUMBS TOWARD EACH OTHER....THE HAND THAT FORMS AN "L" IS THE LEFT.

That's what I do.
(yes I'm 30something and still do it!)

When I was in high school I had a little Gumby doll sitting on the dash board of my car. When I got the matching Pokey I put it on my steering wheel (with his legs wrapped around it.) He was facing left.
When my friends would give me directions they would say "Pokey forward" for left and "Pokey backward" for right. They knew this was easier for me than left and right!

Get Out!! When I learned how to drive I had Pokey on my rear view mirrow doing the same thing for me!! No one knew why but when I got pulled over one day I had to explain why I had it there when the officer told me to take it down because he said it was a distraction. He let me keep it up there.
