Bridal shower finger food

One of my girls is getting ready to throw me a bridal shower but she's never done any of it before and has no clue what to do! I don't either, I've never thrown one, it's been a while since I've actually gone to one and I'm a first time bride, lol!

I was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for probably finger food or easy snack type ideas. We're doing it on a weekend, Friday night will be my bachelorette and then Saturday the shower (b/c my fiance will be taken out of town for a "bachelor party weekend") and so many people will be coming from out of town for one or the other or both. So we either need really easy quick to make things while hungover or things to make a day or two before that will hold long enough. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

A friend of mine always takes those little Debbie snack cakes and cuts them into 4s so that they look like little petit fours (sp?)....pretty clever.

Also I make these parmesan crisps alot....very easy just make sure you use good cheese (it can still be jarred, just not like Stop n' Shop brand etc.)

grated parmesan cheese
preheat oven to 400 degrees
pour a heaping spoonfull of cheese onto a silicone or parchment lined baking sheet and lightly pat down. Spread spoonfullsabout 1/2 inch apart from each other.
Bake for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
that's it!

Sorry it's only a couple of ideas (I don't even know if they help you at all)
I will keep an eye out for more

Good Luck!

You need a sheet cake. :)

Then you can have vegi trays...always popular. Even more popular, fruit trays! Or cheese, sausage & cracker trays.

I forgot about the bread bowl filled with dill dip...always yummy!

Also, you can top those little sliced bread/crackers with just about anything, tuna or chicken salad topped with a couple of sliced green onions.

Another really good dip I like to make is a BLT dip. In a shallow glass pan layer some sour cream with a touch of mayo mixed in. Then top with shredded lettuce, tomato and crumbled bacon (you can even use turkey bacon here). Serve with crackers or those little bread things. This is always a big hit and also very easy to make.

Sorry....I keep thinking of these things....

I don't know if your looking for something like an easy soup to serve but the parm crisps go great with tortellini soup. Just buy any flavor torts you want and cook them in chicken broth. Serve it as a soup.
Super simple and filling.

You can make this ahead and just bake it right before...

Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip

4 cooked boneless chicken breasts, shredded
2 8 oz blocks of cream cheese
1 cup (8 oz) bleu cheese
1 8 oz bag of mozzarella cheese
Wing Sauce made of 1 cup of Franks Red Hot Sauce and a stick of melted butter

Mush the wing sauce, the cream cheese, the bleu cheese and the chicken together and stick it in a baking pan. Top with the mozzarella cheese. Refrigerate. When ready, bake at 350 degrees and bake at for 30 minutes. Serve with pita triangles, tortilla chips, celery, whatever!

Hot spinach dip in the crockpot! First thing I made when I was suddenly on my own again and bought myself a crockpot.

I found the recipe online on Rival for recipes. Has you putting a ring of salsa on top about 1/2 hour or so before it's done. I have made it more than once and people love it! Big loaf of bread cubed nearby and everyone is happy!

I know someone else said it too, but Veggie Trays are terrific. (Everyone is always on a diet you know--especially before the wedding!)
Celery, Green, Yellow, and Red Peppers, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Grape Tomatoes or Cherry Tomatoes, Carrot Sticks. Then just get your favorite Dip! Ranch Dressing is Ryan's Favorite.

My family always has Deviled Eggs as finger food.

Do you have a theme for the shower?? My friend knew that she was going to Mexico for her honeymoon, so they had a Mexican themed shower for her. So we had Chips and Salsa and ate Tacos and drank Coronas. :-) They decorated with a pinata and stuff. It was fun. (the Cinco de Mayo theme reminded me!!)

I had another friend who had a lingerie shower and everything was French! We had a lot of Cheese, crackers and those little baby quiches you can get in the frozen food section. We ate olives, strawberries dipped in chocolate and drank wine. I can't remember what else....

Thanks for all the suggestions, they're really helpful! We don't have a theme. The wedding has a comic book theme, but I'm just so laid back about everything, which my bridesmaid actually told me relieves her a lot b/c with all the problems I've had so far planning this wedding (I just had to ask my maid of honor to step down, she also took my flower girl and ringbearer out of it and informed me that she doesn't want her children to associate with a person who makes a mockery of the sanctity of marriage--don't know where she came up with that all of a sudden, but oh well) she just wants something to go smoothly for me. But she's awesome b/c she admits she has no idea what she's doing and asks for help!!!

LITTLE SAUSAGE PARTY BREADS

1 pkg Jimmy Dean sausage( any flavor)
1 pound hamburger
1 small box Velveeta cheese
1 loaf party bread ( sourdough, rye, or pumpernickel)

Fry your sausage&hamburger till its done then drain. Then add it back to the fry pan and add your veleveeta cheese, a little at a time, just keep mixing it until it all comes together. Then spread your little party breads out on a cookie sheet, spoon a little bit of the sausage/hamburger/cheese mixture onto each one, and then you want to bake these under the broiler just until they reach a light brown color.

Very good and nice easy finger food.

Enjoy
