What a frikking week I have had. Kid stuff, job stuff, and now my backpack was stolen while I was working at the Film Fest. So if anyone sees a dark blue Dansport backpack with $100 worth of patches all over it...as well as all my carving stuff inside..including 3 nearly completed stamps and my STAEDLER carving tools....ARGHHHHHH!!

AND my damn signature stamp. I was not prepared to have to carve THAT again. Not that I have any tools to carve it with anyhow.

Mmmph. I'm grumpy and I can't even go letterboxing.

OH my goodness, LW. If ever there was a good reason to be grumpy, that's definitely it. I feel your pain. Can I send you something to get you back on track? A little PZ Kut? Something to carve with? Oh my goodness.

Unbelievable! It's hard to imagine someone could take your patched backpack accidentally. Hopefully they find that it's no use to them and will just leave it close to where it was taken. I can feel your pain. Good luck and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Well there is no way they can walk around with that backpack without me recognizing it. My skydiving patch, my Mohawk Valley Alpiners Hiking group patch..all my letterboxing patches...heck..even my BDSM patch.

I will kick their ass if I find someone walking around with this backpack. I don't get it..the stuff inside is of no use to them...

I am soooo sorry to hear your backpack and letterboxing stuff got stolen!! Mine did too about 2 or 3 weeks ago. I was almost as sick (and in some ways more) as if I had my charge cards, driver's license etc were stolen (not really but close)! I made the dreadful mistake of leaving my smaller Eagle Creek travel bag laying on the front seat of my Jeep and it never occured to me that someone might mistake it for a purse but I'm sure they did. Same thing as you....they got my AAA card, my sig stamp, my dog's sig stamp and all my Marvy Markers and little square stamp pads. Most of all, they got my logbook...grrrr. This stuff is of no use to them either, but the loss was deeply felt for days.

I also have to pipe up and ask---you skydive?!? So do I---or I did until I got so involved in letterboxing that I just stopped going. If you have a patch you probably have more jumps than me but my graduation jump ended up being with the owner of the DZ and the Pres of the USPA and she surprised me with a red, white and blue chute in honor of my 82nd Airborne son! It was awesome!

Last....I did do that "Hoosier Daddy" HH and released it at the Hoosier event in...uhhhh, February I believe! Thought you might want to know since you were the one who encouraged me to take a risk! :)

Stink! Stank! Stunk!

I'm so sorry to hear that - what an awful thing to happen! Hopefully someone will return it to the Film Festival people/office/where ever. Otherwise I'd hate to be on the receiving end if you have chance to open a can of whoop-*ss on whomever has it.

Hugs,
-AG

I should have thought of this when I first read about it. Check the dumpsters nearby....you might at least get the contents back. Maybe even the bag once they figure out there was nothing of value to them in it.

Oh poor Lock Wench. I am so sorry for you:-( I would be distraught if someone stole my patches. You can buy a new backpack but you can't buy the memories of those patches! Your sig. stamp too, I am so fond of mine, carving another wouldn't be the same.

Shiloh has a good point about the dumpsters, are you able to check them?

Lock Wench,
In addition to dumpsters, check under any bushes/shrubery nearby. When wallets are stolen, that usually where they get tossed after any money or CC are taken. ...Just an idea-you never know!
I hope it show up soon!

On a hopeful note L.W. Once my boys backpack was stolen out of our car long ago....it was full of all of their fav things, color books, toys, markers, snacks, ect nothing anyone but they would want really!....guess who got their backpack back? It took 3 months but then a phone call came and a drop spot was agreed on....it was weird but I think good karma helps....and the fact that it was a kid pack and they were kind of waiting to get it back and our name address and phone were emblazoned on the thing like 5 times....i was a NEW mom - Now I am not sure what color my kids back packs are ....sad huh?

So keep the faith .... think happy thoughts....it will come back to you some how!!!

happy hunting, enjoy the journey,
