That would be Missoula Montana. It's called the Testicle Festival. Seems 2007 is the 25th annual festival (August 1-7 for anyone planning summer vacations.) The website is, of course, http://www.testyfesty.com/ . The cow graphic on it is just....wrong!

C'mon.... Testy festy That is the funniest thing I have ever heard!

I just told everyone that I'm not going to the Virgin Islands for a honeymoon..... I'm going to the Testicle Festival and passed around the link!!!

Someone actually asked me if I was serious.

Of course, my fiance doesn't know this yet either!

Yep, it erm, "makes the grade". Don't suppose anyone caught "Bull Snort Brew" featured?

And since we started with frozen stuff, what about another truly western phenom, Frozen Dead Guy Days http://www.nederlandchamber.org/FrozenDeadGuyDays/index.html

'box worthy, that one

There is a town out west somewhere that has a festival dedicated to the Rocky Mountain Oyster

And can't you just hear the wheels of someone on here who says..."What? they have oysters in the Rocky Mountains?????"

Sorry, I'd take maple syrup over baked beans anyday.
Do the Aussie really eat Vegamite sandwiches?

Take care, Orion

I live with my hubby and 5 sons...plus both dogs are male...and I have an additional 4 boys for daycare....when we are all here I say that it is a "testicle festival" at my house. My girlfriends get a kick out of it.....now I will have to tell them there is a real testicle festival!
Thanks for sharing. Funny stuff! :)

I tried to open the "testyfesty" link. The PC here at the High School wouldn't let me open it-I'm assuming there was some questionable material there! Can't wait to get home to look!!

Quote Out here in the Rocky Mountains are made from cows "jewels" and are generally pounded flat (I am told). I have managed to avoid this "food".

Yeah, the cows (well, the BULLS, anyway) have kinda shunned it as well...!

BOIL squash???

Oh..you poor dear...

Did you have to eat canned spinach, too?

There are just somethings that should NOT be done to food.

Now..take a nice acorn squash and BAKE it in the shell with butter and cane syrup or molasses. Steam butternut on the stovetop or spaghetti squash in the oven (yes, steam it in the oven).

Best of all, sautee summer squash (yellow crookneck) in a little Enova oil and breathe across the top of the salt shaker at it!

Vegamite is properly eaten on THINLY sliced bread, well toasted, that has been previously spread with butter.

Or so I'm told by my Aussie pal, who totally disgusted me. I just so happen to know that Vegamite is recycled brewers' yeast. Yum. NOT.

I used to do them that way a lot, too, but since I got my little grill, my favorite way to cook the yellow summer squash is to slice them in half lengthwise, rub them with a little olive oil and flop them on the grill with a bit of freshly grated pepper. Mmmmmmm.... A few red bell pepper halves beside them is pretty wonderful, too. :)
