I am currently getting quotes to make new sets of merit badges such as the F100. I recently ordered 10 of these 1" diameter patches ( at 2.50 a piece! which was discounted from the original $2.75 because I bought 10) and was dismayed that they took almost 4 weeks to arrive, the vendor did not respond to my emails and phone calls as I was trying to get these in before a gather ( they arrived the day of the gather..while I was 200 miles away!) and they were so cheaply made I was appalled. They appear to have been made on a sewing machine with an embroidery setting. They came in on rough squares of fabric so I am assuming they expect you to cut them out to get the original circular badge that appears in the picture. I was disgusted so I am asking for my $25 back.

If anyone has seen the Blue Diamond patch I have been selling, they know the quality of the vendor I am using. Fine detail, full embroidery, etc. They are getting me a quote and I will soon be offering these "merit badges" for purchase at very little cost. The merit badges I purchased were from the LBNA site, and so had the little compass point on them. I redesigned these to have the F100 or whatever, within a gold star. They are still 1 " in diameter. I will post the info about them as soon as I get it back from my vendor, in a day or two. In the meantime, PLEASE do not purchase those shoddy, expensive ones from the LBNA site. Here's some pictures so you can see what I am talking about:

I have seen the blue diamond patches and they are very well made.

I looked at the links for what you rec'd and what you should have rec'd...I'm surprised that the LbNA site did that. I've never ordered anything from them, but one would think they'd be more mindful of what goes out under their name.

...what a bummer!

I look forward to seeing what your vendor is able to do for you.

Thanks so much, Lock Wench!

I'm glad (well not really, you know what I really mean..) that it wasn't just me that an awwwwwwwwwwwwwful experience with that vendor. And when I had the NERVE to say so both to the vendor and the folks on LbNA, I, not the vendor became, the "bad guy." No email response, waiting and waiting... I finally just cancelled the order after 3 MONTHS. Why does it not surprise me that the final product is complete crap?

Would you please put me on your list of folks to contact when you have these? I would be happy to purchase some from ya, but don't expect that I can keep up with the boards until mid May-ish when I'm FINALLY done moving.

Thanks

I am happy to debut a new patch..the Blue Diamond Worthy Letterboxer" patch. There is no criteria or hoops to jump through to get this patch. Even if you HAVE a BD, there is no guarantee you will have it tomorrow, and so I made this patch to say LetterboxER...instead of Letterbox. You may not have a BD at this time, but if you are a BD in your heart and manner...by treating others with kindness and respect and doing your best to be a positive contributor to the Letterboxing hobby..you qualify in my book. I hope the patch will inspire you to explore those cool places, write those awesome clues, and carve beautiful stamps!

Patches are $3 a piece and can be paid with Check, Money Order, Cash or Paypal. Please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope (1 stamp for every two patches). The gray areas in the scan are actually done in silver metallic thread...so cool! A couple of folks around the country got a sneak peek at these..and I also debuted them at the Mills at Salmon Falls event in NH. I really appreciated all the nice compliments. Ryan and Amanda...yours are in the mail as we speak!

And for those who are interested, if you would like a copy of one of my adult only stamps, just say you want "the bonus" when you order!

Sorry you had a bad experience with them too, preboxed..but I AM glad to know it wasn't just me either! They don't respond but I am still going to ask for my money back...and get Randy Hall involved if I have to.

I will certainly let you know when I hear something from my patch vendor.

About four months ago I ordered alot of those merit badges for a group of Middle Tennessee boxers. I ordered both find and plant patches. We were having a dinner where I was going to pass them out. The add on LbNA said 2 weeks for delivery. Well 2 months after our dinner and 3 months from the day I ordered them (after numerous attempt to contact the supplier) we got these little pieces of..., well,...pieces of..., I can't say it, but they were not what was in the picture. They look as if they were made, as you say, on a machine with a single thread embroider. If you have new ones made I will order a bunch, as I have not only seen the BDW patch, I have one and it is a superior patch. Please, whoever your supplier is, get them to make the entire set and I will buy them several times over. The ones I got from LbNA were the original design, with the red and all, but they were not the same as the ones in the picture.

I can't wait to see what your supplier comes up with. I adore the BDW patch and would love to order some pant and find patches. Let us know as soon as you get something!
