Love is in the air! I have seen a lot engagements on AQ lately.

I am the party girl in my family, so I am often called upon to help when there is a big shebang in my family (or among my friends). Here are some suggestions:

An easy thing to do is just tackle one thing a day/week. You can cross off a ton of things off your to do list taht way. My sister procrastinated (even though I called and tried to keep her on track) and had to crunch everything in 2 weeks before her wedding, which not only made her stressed, but also everyone else that had to help.

Don't sweat the small stuff. People aren't going to know/care that you have matching purple stamps for your purple wedding, rose petals instead of rice, etc. Your friends and family are going to be excited for you no matter what. Just tackle your list and if you don't get to a small detail, tell yourself that it's ok.

The wedding is just one day. Marriage is for the rest of your life. Try not to take out your stress on your family and fiance. Don't forget to take time out of planning "the wedding" and focus on your relationship with your fiance.

Our wedding is in December too and we are freaking out...so I can see the problem. I can't imagine making it happen in July.

Yay Red Soup, I'm so excited for you! :) The story between you and your fiance is so sweet -- I'm glad the wedding is finally a go. Good luck getting all that planning done in 3 months. Atom 118 and I recently decided to go with the other route and are waiting until next spring for the wedding since 1) I have too much going on with work this summer to add on the stress of wedding plans, and 2) we found a really nice place to have an outdoor ceremony, but that doesn't work with winter in Chicago. :P

So anyway, I personally have no problem with postponing the Buffy ring until after your wedding. Since the launch wasn't until July 15th anyway, a few more weeks or whatever isn't a big deal.

Congrats again!

Congrats!

We got married last year & I was so stressed planning everything & wanting everything perfect. The night of our rehersal we found out that both our best man & back up best man were going to be unable to attend. I was so sad! Not because they weren't IN the wedding but because they couldn't share the day with us. I had so many problems the day of the wedding. From rain to our cds not working properly in the DJ's stereo. The place we had it at wanted us to wait a little longer for guests to arrive & by that point I was just like "I want to get married!!!"

In the end all those little details I worried about, I didn't even notice. One of our friends took over the role as best man & another, who wasn't in our wedding party, stepped up for us. The one who stepped up happened to fit perfectly in the now MIA best mans tux & I didn't even notice he had been wearing the tux until I saw the pictures!!!

Don't sweat the small stuff. Just make you & your fiance happy..that's all that matters in the end.

OK, now it is time to spill the beans. The big question everyone wants answering is..........is he a letterboxer or a muggle?

Did the eloping thing... that didn't work. Helped plan ALL my brothers and sisters 'BIG' weddings... (Being an event planner/caterer) that didn't work either.

My husband and I got married the day after our birthday (We share June 1st). My daughter stood up for me and his daughter stood up for him. We had 35 friends and family in a local restaurant. It rained CATS and DOGS! We had cake... and that was about it....

It was the BEST day of my life! And since then we've added two more to our brood of mudflinginfools... seems we work out best when its the messiest out!

Take a deep breath... decide what YOU want from your special day and don't ANYONE talk you into more than what you want... and it will be spectacular!

I agree 1000%! Most of the stress in wedding planning is in trying to please everyone else. This is your day - everyone else either had or will have their turn. J and I got married at city court and it was perfect for us.

Thanks everyone for all the wonderful messages and stories! I really appreciate all the suggestions and the good wishes!

My fiancé is not a letterboxer in the sense of logging finds or looking up boxes to find but he is always willing to go out and letterbox/geocache with me!

That would be good enough for me! Just the fact that he's willing says it all!

Good luck & enjoy yourself!
