Mastercarve~~~A Pilling 'solution'

Okay... so I picked up some alcohol prep pads found in first aid kits - and they cleaned the pilling off my mastercarve stamp. The pilling did return after another 15 inking/huffings... an another swipe with the alcohol prep pads cleaned off the residue again... no appearant harm to the stamp!

Just thought I'd share!

Where were you when I was asking about this last week? I "cleaned" the corners right off my Pennsylvania stamp. I will have to try this next time.

Alcohol, by its nature, has a drying effect. I don't know how it would affect that rubber for sure, but its worth keeping in mind ... you don't want it drying out and becoming brittle.

Does anyone else have experience with this?

What in the world is pilling? I know it might sound stupid, but I am just starting to carve my own stuff.

Mastercarve after so much stamping will "pill" up a bit. Minute pieces will rub off and create tiny little flakes or pills much like you get when you use an eraser...which, in effect, Mastercarve basically is.

This is a great idea! I'm curious about the brittle aspect, but I could've used this idea with my state bird and flower stamps!!
