I also just got back from the library about the "get a clue campaign". Not only did I permission to put boxes in all 19 of the counties libraries, But they also want to have a intro to LBing hour in each library. woo hooo!!!!
I guess I better get carving.
If anyone has any ideas i'm listening. needing all of the help I can get.

Awesome!!
Nineteen stamps, eh? Yowza.
I downloaded pictures of the library's and carved a stamp of the library itself. They turned out pretty neat!
Meanwhile, I am doing a library only HH. One can only take the HH to one of the other libraries in the series. Since we are Agatha Christie fans we've titled it "body in the library" and the idea will be to find which library has the "body"....something along these lines might be an incentive to the finders to keep going to all the libraries....

What about carving favorite children's book characters? Where the Wild Things Are monster, Berenstain Bear, Corderoy the bear, Little Bear just pick your favorite books from your childhood and think of the stamps as a way to reintroduce these classics to the children of today. My hubby's favorite books when he was a kid were "Pickles the Fire Cat" and anything by Richard Scary...lots of characters in his works. My kids enjoyed these same books too as we made sure they were exposed to them.
Since this is a children's summer reading program it seems like a good idea to use characters from some of the books they might be reading...guess you could even go more modern day and use Blue's Clues, Bob the Builder and those sorts of characters too.
I am working on ideas for my first few plants and bought some of the tinned mints yesterday to use as boxes for library plants myself. We found 3 such boxes on our trip to southern Indiana and I really liked the idea a lot, so thought my first couple of plants would be of this indoor type, especially since the weather in Indiana has turned so cold again!
