I think the only thing one would need to DO for a Clean up event...is have an event stamp with logbook and maybe a couple boxes of latex gloves....to pick up any other latex one might find in the woods....if you know what I mean....*EWWWWW*. Found some of those "funny shaped balloons" near a letterbox we went to today. *shudder* Thankfully Six Stars spotted them before the kids did! Thank you Six Stars!!! Neither of us were quick enough to stop my daughter from touching the doggie doo someone left for us to "find"! ARGH! At least none of them fell in the river! *phew*
Anyway...going to make dinner....really!

LOL It sounds like the two of you have some pretty good adventures on the trails with the kiddies!

I highly recommend hosting an event like this. It was my first hosting and it went great.
I forgot to post that we got quite a few thank yous on the trail from a group of little old ladies out for their morning stroll. They were most appreciative we were cleaning up their trail. It's all worthwhile, but hearing thankyou makes you feel good and fuzzy.

Well I had really hoped that it wouldn't come down to this AGAIN, but while checking up on the couple of boxes at White Sands, I have realized, there is another clean up instore. For the second year in a row, I will be leading letterboxers and the town alike, on a journey to a place where litter is everywhere. Now it really isn't as bad as it was last year, but I have planned this clean up on May 20th. That is about 2 whole months before the clean up begins. Who knows what kind of crap we will find this year. So far I have found a chair, many tires and beer cans and bottles everywhere. This has gotta stop somewhere.

Although I will have an Event Stamp, please do not confuse this with a gather. This is a mini meet for letterboxers and the community to come together and make a difference. Last year I had if I remember correctly, 8 letterboxers and 8 from the community. It was an awesome turn out. Lets do it again this year!
