what is a random PLB?

This plb has no set mailing list. There are a few ways to go about receiving or sending a random. The easiest is to contact Trekkie Gal. She is currently in charge of the random address list. If you'd like to receive one, you ask her to put you on the list. If you'd like to send one and want to go through this list, tell Trekkie Gal that you'd like to do so. She'll either ask you to send it to her (she's a plb junkie too! :-) ) and then she'll send it on to someone on the list. You really won't know where it is going or has been unless the recipient logs in the find or otherwise contacts you OR until the plb returns home.

Another way to send a random is to check with a plber, telling them you have a random and ask if they'd like to receive it. If they say yes, then send it on to them and let them find the next person to send it to.

Randoms are a nice surprise. They arrive, you stamp in, ohhh and ahhh and then they're gone again. :-) Please make sure to state that it is a random on the cover or front page with the rest of your info. That will help tremendously. Or in your plb clues that appear here, a subject recently being discussed over the lack of fun plb clues.

OK........is there a way to search out these random postals? Do you just choose any old theme/stamp to carve and then contact Trekkie Gal to launch it onto society? How do you or can you even know what is already circulating around out there? Oh the mystery of it all.....perfectly delightful!

The wonderful thing about random/surprise postals is that they can be of absolutely anything. So carve what you want, and if you want to launch it as a random postal, contact me via AQ mail. Some people have even sent out stamps from rings that come home with a few empty logbook pages.

Also, if you want to be on the list to potentially receive random postals, contact me as well. :)

Very exciting and the possibilities are absolutely ENDLESS!!!! Now I just have to figure out if it is totally rude to carve a stamp at the meeting I have to attend tonight. Thanks....I am sure you will hear from me soon,
