Well I've finally recovered from driving 14 hours this weekend to attend the Salmon Falls event. Despite all of Dunhom 5's hand-wringing..this event went off without a hitch. Amazing, since she (Karolyn) had NEVER attended an event, and her sidekick Six Stars had attended only ONE! They procured a wonderful setting for us, with TONS of room and plenty of tables. As you know, an 8 person table quickly becomes a 4 person table when it is filled with letterboxers and all their stuff.

There were "cootie-free zones" (once again....completely empty), cootie drop-off bins (used extensively), a kids only playroom with toys, their own table, balls and a tent (for those wee ones that tired of stamping) and 5 full table groaning with the weight of pot-luck goodies. All sorts of surprises awaited us...from the hidden boxes to the cool event zipper-pulls to the Atlasquest scratch-off games, raffle and event scrapbook. The weather was HORRID..even by New England standards, but plenty of grizzled letterboxers made the trip anyway. With no outdoor boxing really available, we were able to concentrate on getting exchanges, PTs and cooties. I am actually heading to the next NY event with over 50 cooties. No lie! LOL

Yes, I met WW. She was everything I knew she would be and more. Koko finally got to meet her too and after she crowned him with her bright green thong, he followed her everywhere. *wink* Lots of familiar faces...from the Wildcats to Team New Hampshire ( Dave carved the awesome event stamp), to the Cootie Crew in their new shirts, to the Lazy Letterboxer and the Letterboxing Ham, to Orion to Uneksia...but plenty of really cool and fun newboxers too. I had a blast meeting so many new people and got a lot of compliments on my blue diamond necklace and "Stamp W" button. :)

Dunhom5 is blessed with a wonderful and creative friend (Six Stars, who was a real powerhouse), a talented mother ( Lighting the Way, who sat down and taught bookbinding..you can also see her tutorial here on AQ), cute and friendly kids and a wonderful and understanding husband Stephen> He did everything from hauling and setting up tables, running the raffle, entertaining and watching over the kids, and greeting the newcomers. Even though he is a geocacher, he and Karolyn worked as a great team, and he signaled to her whenever another person walked in the door. Karolyn greeted each and every person she could and spent a minute or two with each of them...so she missed out on a lot of the stamps at her first gather!!! She missed a couple of people only because she was forced to take nourishment...lol. FINALLY..she took a few minutes toward the end to sit down and grab a few images. Truly a great role model for future NH hosts and hostesses.

So I would like to say a big THANK YOU to Karolyn ( Dunhom5) for making me feel welcome..and another big thank you to her incredible family and crew. You guys certainly made the FIRST NH gathering a memorable one. I had a blast and can't wait to come boxing in NH again..this time OUTSIDE! LOL

Koko unloaded..and I got about 20 others in my backpack and hood! I did manage to get rid of about 10 before I left....

I am sure CQ will appreciate each and every one of these delightful cooties...

And I do blame you, missy, since I have quite a few from churchguysand princesses, cathcaingwen, and the other person!

The best cootie of the day, in my book, was the Wolf Family's Captain Underpants!
I reached into my bag, and pulled out a pair of boy's underwear.
Now you have to realize, it isn't impossible for me to have a pair of boys underwear in my bag...if you know what I mean. Ewwwww!

Who is responsible for that, I would like to know!

Hey, I didn't CARVE 50 cooties..I got HIT with 50 cooties. It IS kinda cool to look in my backpack and see every type of clever container!

The Underpants were courtesy of the Wolf Family, who sent several pairs to Desperately Seeking Sun.

No problem david,

I just have a seven year old who is going through a stage where he thinks that urinary continence is a waste of his time :::sigh::: when there are so many other things that
need to be done!

Oh trust me....CQ is the FIRST person I thought of as a new "host!" Well, besides those sneaky cootie locals called CAIN, DAN GWEN and CAROLINE!!! I might have to sprinkle some their way as sweet payback!

LW PhD *wondering how she is going to be stealthy hauling a sack of cooties*
