Sheet music search
Board: Yakking It Up

Hello All...
I'm on the hunt for some out of print sheet music. Its from Stevie Nicks, The Best of Timespaces album. My daughter Ashley DESPERATELY wants to sing a couple songs from it, but our local music source (who usually produces miracles) has been trying to locate it for 6 months and has found NOTHING.
Is anyone out there a music buff holding some Stevie Nicks sheet music that they wouldn't mind sharing so she can sing this? If so... contact me offline.

I've tried every online site I can think of or surf to... and have come up dry. I'd love to make her happy for her 16th birthday in June. Thanks!

After rereading your post, I'm not sure it was the lyrics you wanted. Is it the music sheets for someone to play by? Bet you can tell I'm quite the music buff...<laughing> Will try to find a link to those for you.

Here is a link for a few that have sheet music. Can you tell me specifically which songs she's looking for? Check this out and see if these are the ones.

okay - I guess more specifics are in order... I need piano/voice sheet music for the album. I'd be thrilled if I could get the music for:

thanks

Check E-Bay. If you don't find it, check every day and it might come up. I've found a lot of things I've been searching for this way.
Good luck.

thanks... I've been searching ebay, through a music store that has incredible sorces and online for it for over a year now. I think my only hope is to find a musician that has it tucked away in their stash of sheet music and is willing to copy it for me. The only complete sheet music for it on ebay I did find was 7 months ago and it went for over $200. Very much out of my reach for sheet music.
thanks

I'm sorry I'm not really much of a music person (though I think I managed to "get" the difference between sheet music vs. lyrics...)

(puts on city gal thinking cap)

Your profile says simply "Maine". I'm wondering what might happen if you tried a) getting the names of some really good stores in bigger cities that cater to sheet musics. Maybe some more musically inclined folks from here could give you some specific names in/where they live? Then: b) once you have some specific store names.... try contacting some of these places which might not have an online presence/or everything the really have listed online.

Oh and....have you tried libraries? Especially ones associated with universities and/or that have a particular emphasis on music. Have you tried asking a librarian what they think for next steps?

Ok....waaaaayy too much thinking for pre today. (goes to take aspirin)

Not sure if any of this will help, but I wanted to try to give you some new ideas to think about....

Ashley's voice instructor has feelers out all over the state - she has been teaching music for 30+years and has come up dry. The music store we use is contacting all of his online resources country wide... again, nuthing. I haven't tried libraries... I usually look for books there : )

And unfortunately most colleges/universities music library tends to lean toward the 'classics' and not popular music.

But I keep asking. There has to be someone somewhere that was in a band and bought this music... and has it tucked away somewhere...

time will tell... when its the right time to use it... the music will be there. I have faith that things happen when they are supposed to for a reason... so I can be patient about certain things... just not my morning coffee : )

thanks for the library idea!

I tried but didn't get a response. If anyone knows where Stevie Nicks 'lives' - I'll go knock on her front door!
