I don't think there was any malice or ill-intended deception involved. Some people, such as artists and the like are very nervous about putting themselves and their work out for public criticism (constructive or otherwise). Sometimes it's easier to bring attention to their work anonymously, and get people's reactions from a safe distance.

Yes, the event shirts should have been "official" and permission should have been sought. Personally, I assumed permission had been given. But I doubt it was anything other than an honest oversight. It was a project that should have been thought through much better, but it is also a project that could be a lot of fun for everyone. Some of the designs are rather cute and clever. And event stamps would be great on t shirts. I think it would be fun to wear a shirt like that to an event and get everyone's signature stamp on it. ;-)

BuckeyeMom did step forward, and in the face of criticism no less. Not everyone would have done that. Not everyone has a good means of income, and it's always great to try to turn something we love into a profitable venture. Atlas Quest has premium memberships, other sites sell t shirts, cups, bags and stuff, Stampeaz sells carving materials for a profit, and some people sell stuff on eBay. I can certainly understand and sympathize with someone trying to stay out of debt, much less struggle with medical bills or grocery bills. Those things are enough to drive anyone insane, much less into entrepreneurship. ;-p

If the event t shirts are officially sanctioned, I'm going to that event, and I can afford it (that's the unlikely part *g*), I'd love to buy one from BuckeyeMom's store. I hope our community will show the same courtesy, understanding, and yes, tolerance for mistakes that I've seen in the past.

BuckeyeMom, I have emailed you privately because I have been having trouble posting to the board today, but wanted to let everyone know that I have accepted her apology and will be ordering shirts in the near future. I also told her that I'm sure there are going to be some that will not order, but I'm sure more than not will order. I told her not to lose anymore sleep than she already has because she has done all that she could to correct a wrong. (smile)

I have to agree with Singing Wolf here, entrepreneurship and capitalism is what this country is built on.

I am sorry but I feel like some are just being a little harsh here. It was and is a great idea and some wonderful designs. I have no problem ordering from BuckeyeMom (just need to wait to see if my event made the cut)

I'm really not sure what to say. I understand the need to make a little extra money. I don't have a problem with people making money by selling letterboxing related items. Webfoot is awesome...her products are tip-top and her packages come incredibly fast. I DO have a problem with people who lie to me. You asked for my forgiveness...you have it. I certainly am not perfect and don't expect anyone else to be perfect. We all make mistakes. However, there are certain consequences to your actions. Just because I've forgiven you, doesn't mean I will trust you or order from your website.

As far as the event t-shirts...myself and several others have worked very hard on the event we're organizing. We don't have a lot of money either and are doing the best we can with what resources we have. The fact that you were trying to make money off of something we've worked so hard for really upset me. Again...I understand that you didn't think it through...another mistake...we all make them...and again...you're forgiven. But...again...there are certain consequences to your actions. I will not be creating an Event t-shirt through you.

I hope that you realize the consequences of your actions and will think twice before lying to your potential customers or taking what's "their's".

Can we put an end to this now? At least take the discussion off the public boards?

I missed the 'hoopla', did see the website though.
Cute ideas.
You are forgiven.
I know in my life I have made many a blunder.
hmm, except maybe today,
yikes, not true.
Oh well. Hope you get my drift.
I admire you for coming clean and admitting your mistake.
I agree though t shirts with event stamps would be a real hot seller!!
Blessings to you
