Actually, I don't really get much spam per se, but I'm SICK of spammers using forged atlasquest.com e-mails to send spam. I swear, Atlas Quest seems to get hundreds of bounced e-mail messages sent by accounts that don't even exist.

It annoys the heck of out me that not only do spammers forge e-mails trying to make them look like they come from Atlas Quest, but the mail servers that receive the messages identify it as spam then SENDS IT BACK TO ME! Can't they just delete the stupid message?

Having grown sick of all that garbage, I've finally set up filters to automatically delete any messages that are from "postmaster", "mail delivery system", "system administrator", "mail administrator", "mailer-daemon", etc.

Of course, the downside is that if I (or Atlas Quest) sends e-mail that get bounced, I won't know about it anymore. I used to monitor these messages to if there's legitimate e-mails that do get bounced, I know about it. No more of that, though. It's just TOO MUCH! Stupid spammers.

But come on, mail admins, stop "bouncing" e-mail when you can identify that it's already a forged message! That's just forwarding spam to me and makes them as bad as the spammers.

It DOES sound stupid that they forward it BACK to you. Kinda perpetuates the principle of spam. Sigh.

But as far as Spam ( my cat) goes...he's great! A big yellow tabby.

I actually have a couple of Gmail accounts. =) One for regular e-mail and the other I use for the Gspace extension on Firefox.

And like you, I get very, very little spam in that account. I think I can count on one hand the number of spams I've received in that account. I use a Yahoo Mail account as well which gets a LOT of spam, but Yahoo is pretty good at identifying it and putting it into the spam folder. I used to check the spam folder occasionally to see if legitimate e-mail had gone into it, but I stopped doing that long ago after never finding any legitimate e-mail for several weeks. =)

Anyhow, I have a lot of invites available on my Gmail account as well which is what I used to get my SECOND Gmail account for the Gspace extension. ;o) I'm good!

It's the AQ mail that's causing me more problems. I have SpamAssassin set for that which works pretty darned well. The spam that gets through are bounced messages that didn't even originate from AQ in the first place. They're not "spam" in the traditional sense, so they slip through SpamAssassin like a hot knife through sour cream. The good thing is that they're relatively easy to filter for since 99% of all bounced messages have predictable titles and from addresses attached to them. I'd just like an easy way to sort through legitimate bounced messages from the overwhelming numbers of the bounced messages that I consider spam. *grumbling*

What's the most junk e-mail that anyone has gotten at one time? Over the Christmas Holiday my work e-mail account received over 2000 junk e-mails. Unfortunately I still browse through them before I delete them to make sure that is is something that is not work related.

My personal e-mail is comcast and I maybe get 1 spam e-mail a week.
