Thanks for all the welcomes! I just found out that I committed my first major faux pas and that was not knowing what a hitchhiker was. I just thought it was a bonus stamp! *sigh* And we went letterboxing today and I could have passed it on. *sigh*

On a positive note, I bought the stuff for our first box plant today. Just need Carol Anne to do the clues and then together decide on the image, carve it, plant and post!

It happens - a lot. The first one I found scared me! I left it there because I had no idea what it was. That's when I came home and read the Glossary... for weeks :) Welcome!

Mama Wolf, it was his comments on your Center City Walking Tour that had me puzzled. The whole "a whole series of sucky boxes" comment. We all thought they were great as there was four of us looking for them.

I just found out that I committed my first major faux pas and that was not knowing what a hitchhiker was.

When I started in 2004 the HH's had instructions on them. I found my first and read the instructions on it. If it did not have instructions on it, I would not have known!! And the ones that I did find back then didn't get moved unless they had instructions on them (people just didn't seem to know what to do with them). I ADDED instructions to some that sat in boxes and then they got moved.

Now it seems common place for people to release them with no instructions thinking that everyone that finds them will know what to do with just the title of "hitchhiker".

Hi Dina! I just found your Wizards Chess box. :) I'm in Mt. Island. Our car guy is lives in Newton. "Big Al" Smith. And speaking of the car, I can't go to the Paranormal Pumpkin Picnic because the "Good Guys; Southeastern Nationals" car show is that weekend and we show our '69 Nova every year. Carol Anne should be there though with the other half of Team CandC.

There's an event in the beginning of December that we're both going to. VERY much looking forward to meeting letterboxing peeps!
