How do you carry your personal traveler around?

I just created my first personal traveler. It was intended for a traditional box, but it is the best stamp I have carved so far and I could not bring myself to part with it! (Also, it is carved out of Stampeaz mystery material, which makes in inherently rare, right?) Should I still put the stamp and logbook in a box, as if I were still going to plant it? Is it OK to carry it around in a ziplock? And should I include a stamp pad in the box or is it safe to assume that those stamping my traveler in their books will have their own ink?

my traveller doesn't have its own logbook, I figure I'll be getting their stamp in my logbook anyway with the exchange...so I just carry it in the small tin I keep my siggy stamp in. I usually have my own markers when I know I'll be with other letterboxers, so I don't worry about extra ink or if they have any.

I don't have a logbook either, and for the same reason (personal logbook). I just carry mine in a small plastic box just big enough for the stamp itself.

You can carry it however your want. I carry mine in a zippered pouch with my signature stamp. I carry my own stamp pad because it looks better in a certain color. It really is up to you. I also do not have a logbook just for my PT, but some people do. That's what is fun about how you LB, you can do whatever is easiest for you. Hales Angels

Re: Logbooks - I have a PT that is attached to it's own logbook, but that's part of the PT. You just have to answer a question, and I thought it would be fun if people recorded their answer in the logbook. (The answer is specific to the person.) Not mandatory, just thought it would be fun for me to look back and see the answers ;-)). So the log book is smaller than average, since no stamping is required.

My other PT, and my kids PT's don't have logbooks.

My PT's stamp travels with its accompanying logbook in a black velvet pouch with golden drawstrings.

Yes, it's that special!

(Trouble is, half the time I forget to bring it with me when it really matters...)

I consider a personal traveler the same as any other letterbox. So, I have a logbook for my PT. I have the PT stamp & logbook in a ziploc and carry it in my letterboxing bag that I take with me when I am out letterboxing (it has all my stamps & pads and extra ziplocs). I have a suggested color for it (and a pad); however, people can stamp it with their own pad with any color they desire.

I keep both my personal traveller and signature stamp in an altoids tin for protection. The tin is in my letterboxing pack. Since I have markers anyone wanting to stamp in could use my markers. I then have the other people stamp in my regular logbook.

I made fabric pouches for all 5 of my personal stamps (1 large and 1 small sig stamp and 3 PTs). I found Star Trek: TNG fabric on eBay. :) I carry the stamps, my ink colors for those stamps and my pens in a pouch that was intended to be a cosmetics pouch. I don't have a separate log for the personal travelers.

Like alot, I do not have a log for my PT. I keep it, my sig stamp and ink (duo dabber) in a small drawstring pouch. That has a carbeener on it I hook to a front belt loop. I also love the Sharpie micro's. Clip that on as well, and ready for anything or anyone. The PT game (Do You Feel Lucky) is in its own home-made pouch that can be hooked anywhere.

Do the sharpies leave a good image? We use water based markers (Crayloa Pip Squeeks) when boxing for use on the stamps we find. The sharpies are permanent so we don't use them on other stamps.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I had read somewhere that PTs are just like regular boxes that are attached to individuals rather than locations, so I was envisioning myself hauling around a letterbox wherever I go. I like the idea of just carrying the stamp and not having a separate logbook for the PT.

Murmur:

Maybe I'll get to see your PT some day (and vice versa) :-)
