New Topic - New Subject Title - Good Communication

It's easy to do. A message is read, and in your reply, you change the subject or add information that is off of the subject. The next person replies to your off the subject comments, and soon the thread is headed in an entirely different direction.

That's not a bad thing; it's called conversation. However . . .

When the topic changes, it's a good habit to change the name of the thread in the subject line.

If the post is bookmarked, when you scroll through your list, it is easier to identify why you bookmarked it.

This also helps those who are sorting through a list of messages and choosing which ones to read. If a post on logbook organization evolves to a discussion of airtight containers, who's to know!

There are other advantages to this practice, and I see that some regularly re-title the thread -- thanks to those that do.

Just another opportunity to communicate well.
