I survived!
Board: Miscellaneous Oddities
Feb 14, 2007 7:56pm
I just survived an accident where it was a miracle but nobody was hurt. A frikkin semi ran us off the highway, we got shoved along, up an embankment, spun out into traffic. Nobody was hurt. I haven't screamed so much since Great America's Raging Bull.
Good to be home in my jammies.
I'm sure I only survived without a scratch because I have so many PLBs coming and going that I need to take care of.
*deep breath*
thanks for listening.
LG.

So glad you are okay... and you had an angel sitting on your shoulder. I was in a similiar accident with my younger sister. We jack-knifed and a semi missed us by inches... we rolled 4 times... but no injuries. It did take me 4 months to get back in a car... and 4 years to ride with my sister again : )
Again... glad you are safe and sound and at home!

I'm so glad that you're all right. Expect to be a bit jumpy behind the wheel for a little while.
Did you get the license plate number of the truck driver? Did you fill out a police report?

I was too busy freaking out to see the truck. :( The police had to push us out of the middle of the highway...so...
Thanks for all the kind thoughts everyone. :) It seems very unreal today as I just get ready for work like every other day.
Anyhow. Have a good day folks.

Well, thank goodness for the PLBs that kept you safe, then!! I knew they were good for our health -- maybe we should all sign up for a few more!! :)
Seriously, I'm sooo glad you're safe and sound -- that was way too close and scary!!

Glad you are ok! That's the important thing. Get back on the highway today if you can... it really helps to get past the fear.
Blown tires are bad news. One caused our van to fly through the air, flip over once, smash down and flip about three or four more times.... with Robert driving, two of our kids and our dog inside. Everyone walked away. Lacerations, bruises and one injury with nerve damage, but they lived. The dog ran and didn't stop running until she was lost somewhere in the desert around Pecos Texas.
Check your tires regularly!

I read your post about your accident at work last night and then on the news there was the dash cam from the police car showing the FEDEX truck hitting the car. My first thought was I wonder if THAT was Library Girl? But It wasn't. The guy in the car walked away too so I'm glad you're both OK.
