Blizzard boxing (aka DSS to the EXTREME!)

Well, it only took 3 years, but the Highlander and I FINALLY took up the challenge! Although we didn't put it in the grocery store that started this whole thing (the one TurtleMcQ put hers in), we DID place our Challenge O' the Sprite box in a Wallyworld AND we did it during a SERIOUS whiteout up here in WNY. It didn't look bad this morning when we looked outside (the sun was actually out!), so we figured we had plenty of time to get going on things. We worked on the D & D PLB ring stuff and hung out, even watched an episode of Star Trek before we left the house around 4:30. When I got my coat off the window hook, I turned to the Highlander and said, "Uh, is snow supposed to go sideways like that?" It was blowing so hard that I could barely see the garage 10 feet away!
We had to get some stuff from Wallyworld, though, so we decided to go quickly before nightfall. We have a Subaru, so I had enough belief in going that I think I suckered the more knowledgeable Highlander into continuing our trek just 15 minutes east. I totally forgot that country roads have little or no lighting, though, so by the time we were 30 minutes away, it was already dark and we REALLY had moments where we couldn't see a THING. We were too worried about getting stuck or rear-ended to pull over, so we kept going about 35mph at least half the way there. By the time we got to the store, he wanted to stay and keep the car running while I went in to plant the box. "Don't go and shop," he told me. "We really need to get out of here before we're stuck in Albion all night."
"Well, I can't just run in, plant and run out...I'll look weird! I have to buy SOMEthing." I explained.
He told me to pick one thing from the list we had and go with that, but apparently, he had more faith in my ability to NOT succumb to the spritely urge to look at all the shiny things and the toys and the candy and the movies and the new tvs and the cat food and the...
"What are you DOING???" he demanded. By this point, he'd parked the car and come in and I was STILL mulling over the type of cat litter to buy, the plain kind or the kind with the pretty blue crystals in it (I swear there are times that I should just TURN IN my tomboy card!). In my defense, though, I was planting the box in the auto department when this guy started STOCKING the shelves! As a chick, if I spend too much time in the auto department, men come up to me with that sympathetic look and ask if I need help, so I couldn't sit staring at oil pans for too long. I had to do some fake out time in the spark plugs and the wiper blade area, then actually get a snow brush for the car.
Anyway, things eased up considerably on the way back, so even with bad roads, we could SEE where we were going. We made it back home in less time that it took to get out and are now safe in the cabin listening to the wind try to get in here. Regardless (does the dance) "Weeee planted a bo-oox, weeeee planted a bo-oox...!"
By the way, Phoenix, I KNOW how you are about first finds, but you may just want to wait the storm out on this one! ;-)

OK S&H... we came ALL the way from Victor, snagging Fiddlin Sweet's Challenge box (first finders *grin*) so we KNOW how bad it was!!! Complete whiteouts, sometimes driving as fast as 5 mph, some complete stops...
So... darn it! Post the clue!!!! Papa Phoenix is chompin' at the bit!

Oh, snap! TOTALLY forgot to do the clue! We're so busy getting stamps ready for the D & D PLB ring, I didn't even THINK about posting the clues when I got home!
I'm on it!

I think Papa Phoenix is trying to think of an excuse for having to leave the house at 11:15 at night....
