Well, I don't know about the rest of you, but I pulled out another 5,000 or so words for my great American novel last month, but so far, I've been writing up a storm this month having already written 5,000 in the FIRST THREE DAYS of this month!

I might finish this book yet!

I'm still only up to Pearisburg, though, just over 1/4 of the trail done. I figure the book is closer to 1/3 or 1/2 done, though, since there is a LOT more detail and pre-trip planning I wrote about that doesn't need to be covered again in the second half of the book. In fact, I completely skipped the last 60 or so miles I hiked before Pearisburg. Oh, sure, there's some stuff I could mention, but it's not really that interesting. "It rained today" or "The lightning was LOUD!" Blah, blah, blah. It was boring, so I cut it all out and skipped to Pearisburg where the interesting action picks up again. =)

About 45,000 words so far and counting.....

that is awesome, Ryan. not everyone who can hike can also write about it, this is a talent you have. I really really want to read this when you are finished. may I offer my services as a proofreader?

Well, let me finish the book first. =) Until it's done--which might take quite awhile!--I don't really need any proofreaders or editors!
