Dick Cheney had the skill and grace
And firepower In his gun,
To shoot his lawyer in the face.
So while enjoying boxing fun
Stay alert while on the trails,
Wear orange, and from brown stay clear,
For hunters stalk the woods and vales
And may mistake you for a deer.

Shotgun/Rifle is Nov 19th thru Dec 11th. Then late bow and muzzleloader thru Dec 20 Alomost piddled my pants with a quick grab/attempt this morning in a nearby cemetery. All of a sudden Kaaaaaabooooom goes off. Not 100 yards from where box was supposed to be in a cemetery. I saw the pumpkin sitting in his treestand . I aborted as I had to go to work anyhow.

I'm an avid hunter. 53 hours in the woods since the 19th. Saw 95 deer so far. I haven't shot yet, and I have five tags I could fill. By no means a sport hunter, we eat venison regularly. Stew, burgers, chili, steaks, jerky, tacos etc. It's one of our daughters favorites. Of those 95 deer I have seen alot of does with fawns, I will not orphan the fawns. I won't take a small buck either simply because they don't furbish as much meat. Won't take a shot at a running deer or a low percentage shot. Every deer ever shot by me has been one shot. As far as deer/car accidents, almost hit a big buck on opening day, another big buck yesterday and a doe on the way home. I'm sure there are alot of non-hunters that may chime in to this but I'm not afraid to voice my opinion. My trailname is derived from my passion for turkey hunting. Saw a flock of 43 birds yesterday. I'm seeing turkeys, deer, fox, heard coyotes, pileated woodpeckers, downy woodpeckers, nuthatches, ravens, great blue herons, raccoons, red ,grey and fox squirrels, chipmunks. Yes some may say take a camera, I have these all as memories and the vension is only a plus to my hunting. My .02

My boss went out turkey hunting before work one day last year. He came in, pretty happy he had gotten a nice bird. I asked him to see it, as I've only seen a wild turkey from a distance. He looked at me confused, but took me out to his truck. He pulled out his turkey, wrapped in a plastic bag, looking just like a supermarket turkey. He had field dressed it. Not a feather in sight. What a let down!

You are a hunter who is considerate of the animal and making sure there are numbers to hunt for others, in the future. You are a smart hunter also...you do not like to waste shot...but you want meat to enjoy eating. A well balanced hunter.
