Most boxes in one spot

Obviously Dartmoor takes the cake but to everyones knowledge what is the largest concentration of boxes you know of in a park . In other words how many boxes are in the park that has the most boxes that you know of. And to put it in perspective how big is the park for comparison values.
just curious how things are across the country!

Stone Mountain Park, Suburban Atlanta Georgia
~3300 acres, ~100+ active boxes (and counting) when combining AQ, LBNA, and Mystery boxes.
I doubt there is a more concentrated spot anywhere with such a high total number of boxes available to find.

This is only rumor on my part, never having been there..... but Stone Mountain Georgia is "the place to box" in the SE. I'm sure some people more local to the area than myself can comment on the actual "boxes per square mile" ;-))
Mama Fox - going to get to Stone Mountain this summer if I have to walk. By myself. Barefoot.

oops, I lied. It is only 3200 acres, not 3300, and that includes a 360 acre lake which you would generally think is off limits for boxes since they don't recommend touching the water, but you never know... *eyes drgdlg carefully*

...and that may or may not include the acreage of the 36 hole golf course, but probably does since that is inside the fences of the park, which takes away even _MORE_ boxing territory... OK, nothing else to add now on this topic. LOL

I think Tyler State Park in PA might have ya. Theres somewhere around 70 ish boxes there, ( I may work on a count of these) and it's 1711 acres including water. The water is only Neshaminny Creek, but it's a largish creek.
I've been to Tyler, am planning to go back, and now have added stone mountain on my list of places to go this year.

And if one were to take a vacation, what kind of time frame should one plan in order to obtain all of said boxes in Stone Mountain Park? Hypothetically, theoretically, philisophically speaking that is?

I would honestly say 4-5 days, with lots of help and luck. That is assuming you figured out the mystery boxes and have a lot of good luck finding the non-mystery boxes there that are "find the thing in this picture somewhere in the park" type clues...
As an example, a very full, well planned 12+ hour day in the park for 'SM Virgins' recently netted a total in the low twenties. Longer daylight would help, but I have never heard of anyone finding more than 20-something in a day over there unless someone is just walking them to the box and pointing at it for them...

sounds like an annual pass would be a good investment for those going after these boxes!

Yep, I got my annual pass last year, but I'll need another this year.
I'm still working on figuring out where some of those are located. But it sure is fun to hunt them down!

In Arlington Texas there is a park that has one box in it. But the park (it's a real 'park') is about 10 yards each side and is a triangle. D**m park, took me three times to find it. I was so mad, then when I found it, I was ecstatic.

The zipcode is 30087 but I don't know enough about searching on GC.com to get you a number quickly.

I can tell you, from experience, you can literally find caches right on top of boxes at SM....
and concrete monuments to loved ones.....
And a host of all kinds of other things....
It was a very interesting day....

Stone Mountain is one rare case where there are more letterboxes than caches in the Park! A quick query on Geocaching and Terracaching (we are premium members of both) shows 26 caches within the park. (Searching for zip 30087 produced over 300!)
