if your concern in buying local is to keep the money in your immediate community, you can rest easy... although buying from other online sources can be a situation where you don't know here your money is going, buying from stampeaz is keeping the money in the "local" AQ community... because stampeaz is owned by our own webfoot, and operated out of her basement... so you're helping a friend who is a female small business owner, and also a friend, by buying your supplies from stampeaz.
additionally, may I add a testimonial... the turnaround was fast, the items I ordered arrived well packed and in excellent condition, AND... when I turned around the next day and realized I had forgotten an item, she managed to cram both orders into the same box and sent me a refund check for the second amount of postage, as well. And she stamps every invoice with a stamp so beautiful that I realized I am but an extreme novice at carving. I had two invoices, so I had two different stamps, both seasonal (my order was around thanksgiving), and I had to cut them both out and put them in my logbook to keep them.
night writer...

Well, I will just have to order from her then. Probably waste enough money running around town that it would pay for the postage. (smile) I was a small business owner at one time and have always liked to give them my business if possible, so will get on her site tonight or tomorrow and get my order in. Have to go letterboxing today. Watch out Greenwood, Ninety-Six, and Chappels, here I come.

That's a YES. Hobby Lobby carries everything you will need to get started and for the long haul. They have stuff for carving and for mounting. You will eventually understand the necessity to mount. The only thing about Hobby Lobby is that the carving supplies are not with the stamping stuff and the store bought stamps. You have to hunt it.

You know, I have ordered from her. Night Writer is right, she is always careful and expeediant with her deliveries. Her product is always first class. When you order, naturally it will take mail time, so if you just want to learn to carve and own your own supplies, I would order from her, but if you are in the middle of an idean for a new box and you need a piece of pink right now, Hobby Lobby has it. I do agree with the idea of blessing a local AQ alter girl. A home based business is hard to run.

We buy all of our carving material from Stameaz too. :-)
As for the gathering in Greenwood, we would LOVE to do a little carving work together! Absolutely no problem at all. We're planning for the event to start the night before with a bonfire for anyone staying in the area, and there will be ample time for carving between the bonfire and 'official' stuff the next day. We'll keep everyone posted and just make that happen as a group. If we all share our carving experiences we can all learn from each other!
