After I select the letterboxes I want to visit, I'd like to print a map of them.

Do you mean on LbNA? There's not an option for that. Sorry. =(

I just tried going through the Browse Map, Canada/Greenland/Iceland, Greenland/Iceland and I still get 404 error, even after hitting CTRL F5.

Try hitting the Ctrl-F5 on the Canada map, not the page where you got the 404 error. The link did point to a non-existant page, but there weren't weren't any regions specified in the database so I just changed the link to point directly to the search results. That's the page that changed--not the 404 page which is still a 404. =)

I finally got it to work by clicking on Iceland on the map itself after getting to map of Canada/Iceland. If I click on the words Greenland/Iceland below the map it still gives the 404 error.
Thanks for the quick fix, but looks like there is still work to be done in the whole search area. Another reason for more people to donate to the cause.

Ah, I didn't realize the link was on the page two times. Sorry about that. Should be fixed now! =)

How do I fix this?

You can't--that's a problem the owner made and, theoretically, can fix. But since they aren't active, I've gone ahead and done it myself.

When you get a chance to link the two sites will we be able to log an LBNA only box as a listed find on AQ and not just as unlisted?

No, if there's not a corresponding box on AQ, it would have to be an unlisted box on AQ. I have to admit, I never even considered that as an option! I was thinking if a box was on one site but not the other, it just wouldn't list a find at all. But you're right, theoretically, LbNA could list the find as a find on an unlisted box. (At least for premium members, since finds on unlisted boxes are a premium member perk.)

I'm just wondering if there would be a point where they could all be together as listed rather than being separated into two different categories.

Not likely. Early in AQ history, they used to be listed in one giant list, but it caused a few problems. The queries that pulled the data from the database started running unacceptably slow as people started recording large number of finds which was the main reason that I finally had to split it into two separate lists. Even now, with the lists separated, those with 5,000+ finds are a bit hard on a database, often taking more than one full second to run.

I try to keep things running so a page could load in less than one second. Most pages run in a fraction of a second--1/10th of a second, for instance, but those with huge number of finds... the logbook pages often take over a full second to generate.

If you mean you've done a search and selected SOME (not all) of the boxes in the search - then use the MAP button at the BOTTOM of the page. The button at the TOP of the page maps ALL of the search results (well, first 100). However note that mapping is now a premium member perk.

I have always found it so much easier just doing screenshots of all boxes & clues I’m going for. Once LB is found & recorded I delete screenshots, usually when I get home. It also helps when I lose my AQ service out in dead zones, my screenshots/photo’s still work great. Tried the iPhone to printer a couple of times, finally gave up, just makes my head hurt lol.

I suspect a horse trail box would require special gear to deal with the road apples (sturdy wellies or hip waders, I suppose). Can't expect the equestrians to clean up after themselves or put on the old horse diapers. ;-)

I just planted two in Hólavallagarður Cemetery in Reykjavik! You can walk to this location from the main downtown touristy area! I hope you have a chance to get them. The cemetery is really worth a visit - very old and atmospheric. Hope you have a great trip!

Actually, that is rarely a problem. Even the Bright Angel Trail in the Grand Canyon is usually "clean" enough for anyone wearing sneakers or trail runners. I won't recommend flip-flops, however. For those not in the know, the Bright Angel Trail is the path from the south rim down to the river used by dozens of mules each day toting tourists in exchange for a large amount of money.

Mystery 2501 now has three correct answers. That leaves seven more spaces to fill. Time for a summer school math pop quiz.

Clue 5 = The cube root of the number of squares on a chess board (Just the individual ones a single piece can fill).

I've put them on my list. There are a couple of other boxes in that same cemetery.
I'm going to be on a cruise and the cruise ship will be docked about 4 miles from the cemetery.
Hopefully, I can get to that cemetery.

Great - I really hope you have time to get to the cemetery!

There is a shuttle bus than runs from the cruise ship docking ports to Harpa Concert Hall, which is the last stop and is right in the center of town. From Harpa to the cemetery is less than a 20 minute walk.

Good luck! Origami Hen

So we are trying out a new brand of carving material https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BCQ358YT?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

Usual method of solvent transfer is not working, not even slightly! Very strange. Tried sanding first but no improvement. What transfer method works for this material?

Thank you! It's a really old box (20 years) in perfect condition and seems like something which might be more popular now that a clue is obvious. Finding historic boxes is fun!

I use these and acetone transfer works fine. I usually wipe them down with acetone first though, sometimes it helps clear any residue on the surface and makes transfers cleaner.
