What a great deal!
I'm ordering a set right now.

Sometimes I like to use ones that a little bigger so that they can accomodate HHs.
I see they also have eight 1.2 cup (4" Round x 2.2" tall) LnLs for $10. I'll be ordering these too.

Thanks for the tip!!

Can you get these in the stores as well? I havent really looked hard, but our Wegmans doesnt seem to have them. At least not that I have seen. Anyone who knows Wegmans knows they seem to have everything you could ever want.

Should I be looking at Target, KMart, Walmart....

And also...has anyone ever seen these really cool plastic baggies that have a zip lock along the top of the bag for the larger section, as well as a separate pouch in the middle of the bag? For a smaller section. So you have two zippered parts, then the slide down part that holds the smaller one on top of the bigger section. I saw one on the first postal I got from the newbie #15 ring I did. It was the coolest bag....not just for postals, though it was nice to have the stamp in one section and the journal in the other. But for snacks, cosmetics, cottonballs, q-tips...etc....the possiblities are endless....

I have not seem them either in Weggys....any ideas??

I am pretty sure they came with the postal Mr Poppers Penguin by the Happy Hyper Hikers? I dont know if that would have come from them or Jacks since she organized the ring? HHH if you are out there where did you find those baggies???

Oh boy is right! I love this price since they are about $2 locally. I got both of those and an assorted set, hey, maybe I can get organized at the same time!

yep...
that is awesome...
now if it wasn't so much to ship them.
I went to asheville the other day looking for these little round ones and couldn't find them so of course there was all that aggravation and wasted gas. I have already ordered a set of 10...

I am wanting to put some small LBs out in an area I will not be able to check on them and i want the water-tight seal for those.

I believe those baggies are called Kangaroo bags. There was a discussion about them some time ago. I don't have time to search for it, but you could search for it now that you know the name.

Perhaps you shouldn't. In my experience, the Lock-N-Locks with round lids don't seal anywhere near as well as the ones with rectangular lids. The sections out between the latches tend to lift up. Larger round Lock-N-Locks can be positively leaky.

And, as always, I recommend using a container large enough for a 35mm film container HH to be dropped of in whenever feasible.

I have seen NO problems with these tiny LnLs...
as a matter of fact...
they seem to be perfectly waterproof and sooooo easy to conceal once they have had their layer of camo

Our local stores don't carry the smaller sizes, which I wish more and more that I had ready access to. If they are still available after the holidays, when my wallet returns to normal functioning, I'll be snapping them up!

They're called Kangaroo bags and didn't really do well on the open market. You might be able to do a web search for end lots

after I posted that, I looked at it again and did the math...ok..its late...even on a good day I cant add. I know I dont need 72 of them. I would have to buy them and resell them....dont think there is a huge call on the black market for kangaroo bags.

Guess I will call the number and see if they are still in stores. I just think they are cool Probably would have been much more handy when my kids were younger and we never left the house without a million snacks.

thanks again!

You've had lots of experience with the round vs. square Lock 'n Locks, I gather. I was just about to order a bunch for taking soup for lunch. I, of course, cannot deal with soup leaking all over everything during transport.

I know that most LB-ers are concerned with keeping moisture OUT. In this case, I want to keep it all in.

What are your thoughts about square containers in regard to soup?

I'm just saying, I wouldn't buy a round Lock-N-Lock. The tabs are little bitty things, and long sections of the lid are not held securely shut. The rectangular ones, by contrast, have latches that run the entire length of the side so only a small area at each corner is unsupported. The rectangular ones are the best things this side of ammo cans, the round ones not so much.

If you need a container with a round opening, you'd be far better off just buying a big plastic screw-top jar of Planters nuts or Skippy peanut butter. Eat the contents, then wash and paint the container and toss it in the bushes.

For soup, I might recommend a thermos.

I have used LnL for both reasons. I have had round, square and the long rectangle ones submerged in ice WATER in a cooler for days at a time with not a drop of anything getting in or out. The only thing that might happen is some condensation if the contents were warm and then put into cold or vice versa but i can't say that even that was ever a problem. I LOVE lock and locks...for soup, fruit cocktail and letterboxes :)

I use lnl's for everything. I even gave away my tupperware.

If anyone is having a problem with leaking or even hinges breaking due to falling out of the freezer (Shh, I didn't for it to break,) they are guaranteed. all you have to do is send in the little heritagemint paper that comes in all of them with your receipt and they will be replaced.

I personally have not had a leakage problem. I just wish my local grocery store still had this brand the 3oz. sizes were .50 cents and each week a different larger size was featured for $1.00.

I must say I own at least 50 or more of these containers. the only thing that would make them better is if they would nest to save room in my cabinet. =)

We'll let's not stop there. If they will nest, perhaps they could be persuaded to have lay eggs and hatch little l and l's!

I still have the little Tupperware salt and pepper shakers. Has Lock-N-Lock come out with those yet?

BTW, I heard one report from somebody -- might have been a geocacher -- who said that it's possible for somebody to put the lid on a Lock-N-Lock upside down. It's not sealed at all that way, of course, but the snaps will snap. The suggestion was that if you're applying camo tape anyway, apply it in such a way as to make it even more difficult to accidentally install the lid upside down.
