Mama Wolf and I crossed the state line today to surprise Rowdy Rodeo Roosters and her bunch that were gathered at Pizza Hut for the Meet & Greet !

We had a great time, going over early to explore the area a bit. We saw MILLINIUM MANOR in Alcoa..... a castle that is now a private residence.....

Then we went to JUNIOR BANKS FORTRESS OF FAITH. A Castle of sorts in Greenback TN that is one man's tribute to the Almighty. This was a fascinating place. It took us over an hour to see each room and explore all the nooks and crannies.... including a pet cemetery in the back yard with little bitty tombstones. Many different rooms, some with themes, some just rooms with nothing in them, but all the walls decoratred with crosses or etched drawings. NO ROOF..... but complete turrets and pilars.... even what looked like a draw bridge from one part of the castle to the other.

You should have seen PAPAW'S face when we came in. He looked, then looked again.... looked a third time before he said "WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU GIRLS DOING WAY OVER HERE?". *LOL*

And, yes, we did stupidly wander inside after seeing this stuff! We couldn't stop whispering either. I had to comment that it did seem like we were following the same foolish sequence of events that they do in horror movies! And yet, we were compelled to see more...

The "CAKES" were decorated like it was a special occasion.
I'm guessing the special occasion was GOD visiting ?

No matter how many photos we show .... we cannot convey what this place "IS". It is AMAZING.... and something that MUST be seen. The work and the attention to detail and the BELIEF that Junior has in what he's doing ..... is evident in every bit of this place.

At the point where we found the Bible on the stand... yes, the one with the large knife stuck in the edge...... we both got that "TWILIGHT ZONE" or "OUTER LIMITS" feeling.... this was suddenly so surreal and ominous.

Hey Papaw, I'll be right down to lend you a hand.......sipping a few brewskies to make it easier to get back into the mingling mood. I am sure it is hard to do without Nanni, but you can mingle and have fun while still keeping her memory close to your heart and carry on with life. And life includes getting back to your crowd of letterboxing friends as they can help you thorough this time of lonliness. I do hope to get down your way sometime next year but not sure exactly when that will be...or where. Depends on how many trips we can work into the time and money budget. I Look forward to the time and place. In the mean time, you tell Mama Wolfe that she should have hung onto the briefs and put them in her underware drawer with all her money inside them and then she would have no worries about anyone wanting to steall her money.

Rowdy, We had a blast. Please think about coming over to Movie Madness the Musical in January !! We don't have castles of death or anything, (NC boxers are scary enough I'm told) but we'd sure love to see some of you TN people here !!!
