Yay for Coconut! 🧡
Let's talk about our pets!

Three FLAmigo's got me thinking about this when they mentioned "my helper Coconut 🐈⬛", in the Clue Tracker thread.
Also, we have a new member of our family. There was this little feral kitty running around our neighborhood. She was terrorizing our bird feeders (and our neighbor's too). Even though she's only a year old, I think she's has already had a litter.
So we decided to trap her and have her fixed. What happened after that was yet to be determined. The trapping and fixing went well (for us). So ECP decided we should try to integrate her into our household. She was extremely shy and skittish at first, as expected. But we eventually gave her the run of the house and she absolutely fell in love with our big (26 lbs) ginger cat, Logan. Our little tortie, Trinity, was less welcoming.
It's been about 3 weeks now and she is settling in and getting used to us. With Logan, she runs up and down the hall like a crazy person. Here she is, her name is Oreo.
There's plenty of space for the cats, we have a screened in porch in front and a 9' x 12' catio in the back.

Same, I rarely ever print clues except when we know cell coverage will be minimal.
Printed clues are helpful then.

But that’s one of the great things about Clue Tracker. You don’t need cell coverage if you’ve saved the clues to the app.

Oh she is a gorgeous tuxedo and Oreo is the perfect name for her! That’s so lovely that you have 3 🐈⬛ 🐈 🐈⬛ ! A lap warmer probably almost always available at your house!
Our Coconut was a rescue and her bio said she needed to be only pet. We are afraid to test that theory.

I did not know that.
Alrighty then. I gave up sorting the printed clues a couple of hours ago and kind of felt bad. But not anymore!
Thank you for the heads up!

I've been out of the postal game for awhile now (I'm always sort of lurking incase I want to hop back in because I did love it so much, especially in the winter) so maybe it's not fair for me to put my input here, but I have to say that a stamped image on paper would be considered an LTC, by my standards, even if it's not a traditional size.
Part of what made postals so magical was receiving the personalized and inspired logbook with the handmade stamp and any other pieces of craft/information that the creator felt relevant. It was a true letterbox made with a unique effort that was made start to finish by an individual in a way that no other letterboxer could. Even if the tracker theme was something narrow, like "a rock", everyone would carve a rock differently and present it with a logbook in a way none of the other participants would. It had all the elements of a traditional letterbox, just made to fit in an envelope.
I've never visited a traditional letterbox where you collected a pre-stamped image and stuck it in your logbook. Part of the "special" of finding a letterbox is that it's a creation of the moment, and though you hope it's there forever, you never know when weather or a USPS mail-eating machine is going to take it away from you.
All this to say: it's letterboxing, and letterboxes going missing is part of the game, whether it's found on the trail or in your mailbox. :)

We have already heard the description of Letterboxing 101.
I looked up Blog Post Mortem. It appears to have a similar plot device as Word Processor of the Gods. It was made into an episode of Tales from the Darkside.
I may have seen this episode, but I'm pretty sure I haven't read the Stephen King story. Nevertheless, I have read or seen this story somewhere else.

I just finished The Devils by Joe Abercrombie. I’m giving it 5 stars! It’s a fantasy, I guess, but laugh-out-loud dark humor and with well-written, deeply flawed characters. I couldn’t put it down.

I don’t live in Florida but I do live in the humid south. My boxes do not have logbooks. In the south, logbooks turn to mush in no time.

This is Toby, our rabbit - he likes to help unpack groceries when we bring them home. He's our only rabbit this round; we recently figured out that we've had rabbits for 25 of the last 35 years --

If you know cell service is minimal, you can always save them in a backpack and get them whenever you need them. No cell service needed :-).

We had a basset hound for 15 years (I know, SHOCKER) ... ;)
She lived to a great age for a dog born as the only surviving puppy in the litter and also with a stage 4 heart murmur! Every year at 13 and beyond I would contact the place we got her and say "She's 13!" .. "She's 14!" .. "She's 15!" ... because their longest lived one had been 14.
Now, we have Hazel who is a rescue dog from Mississippi, a mixed breed of the sweetest lovies on earth.
We have also had 4 cats over the time we've been married (Harry, Van (Gogh) missing part of his ear, and sisters Marshmellow & Bug) all no longer with us.

Oreo is adorable. So happy to hear she is safe and loved with her new family.
Here is my little guy, Murphy.
He is 16 yrs old and as you can see in his eyes, he is now blind due to cataracts.
This little guy is my everything. His favorite thing to do is to just cuddle up and fall asleep on my lap.
I know the ending is getting close, so I am just spending as much time as I can with him.

It wasn’t my idea to print the backpacks, just saying…
Someone else suggested we print the clues and I offered to do it since I was gifted a printer and buckets of ink.
Dang I just learned to import the backpacks a couple of weeks ago thanks to you helping me out!

If you can string two sentences together without making 3 spelling and 4 grammar errors, then it's worthy enough!
I am resisting the temptation do dive into your book immediately, as I am flying cross-country this weekend and figure that will be the perfect time for some uninterrupted Silver Eagling!

@Mighty Caffeinated Mouse: Thank you! She is quite a hoot. Last night (after we went to bed) she and Logan were running up and down our long hall at top speed.
@Plymouth Seekers: She looks so sweet!
We didn't realize she was a 'Tuxedo'! That tickled ECP to no end. She immediately looked them up.
Real-Life Tuxedo Cats
Simon: A decorated Royal Navy cat who protected the ship's food from mice during WWII.
Socks: The beloved First Cat during the Clinton administration.
Tuxedo Stan: A Canadian cat who ran for mayor to raise awareness for homeless animals.
Sparky: A tuxedo cat who inherited a fortune, becoming one of the world's richest cats.
Historical Figures
Historical figures like William Shakespeare, Sir Isaac Newton, and Beethoven had tuxedo cats as companions, finding inspiration in them.
Trinity is our designated lap warmer - in my lap every night for TV.
Yay, for rescuing Coconut! I'm sure she feels loved.
@paper trail: OMG, Toby is adorable! So fluffy. Looks like maybe some of the shopping was for Toby? 😉
@Basset Mom: Sorry to hear about your 15 year old - I know that's hard. But Yay for adopting Hazel. A vendor came in my office yesterday with his dog. A cute teacup of some rare new creation. It was sweet enough but he said he paid thousands of dollars for it. I couldn't help but think of a puppy that could have gotten rescued in it's place.
@Riggs Raven: Lordy that's an adorable puppy! So cute it doesn't look real 😊 Enjoy your time with your friend!

We didn't realize she was a 'Tuxedo'! That tickled ECP to no end.
My previous cat was a black and white "Cow Cat," but he wore his spots with the dignity of a tuxedo. We always imagined him as a gentleman wearing a smoking jacket and drinking martinis around the house.
He died at 19, and we decided that it would be great to get TWO cats. So, we have 6.
