Stamp Retirement Relocation Program

Winter is now upon most of the country. The snowbirds are starting to flock and migrate toward us here in the "Sunshine State".

Why should they have all the fun. If you (or anyone else you know) have any stamps that would like to retire to the "Sunshine State" just send them along (carvers will be acknowledged as such) for planting by us. There is plenty of room for starting a retirement relocation program here. We have many locations available for these tired, retired postal, elderly and arthritic stamps that wish to retire and move south to enjoy life in Florida and have locals as well as tourists stop by for a visit.

Just contact us for information as to where to send the retirees.

Merry Christmas to all

Too funny! I was thinking of all those snowbirders now when I noticed the cold temps throughout AZ, West Texas and some of the other southern states this morning. Nearly flipped when it said 32* for El Paso with a windchill of 27*. I'm sure all those folks who moved there to escape the cold are wishing they'd gone to San Diego, instead--it seemed to be in the 70s today. ;) Or the Equator, for that matter...

I work at a natural wetland protected and maintaned by the Army Corp of Eng. and TWRA. I work at the museum on the property. You can go to the window and look out at people on the trails and know just exactly who is a hiker, who is a trouble maker, and who is a letterboxer. Hikers and trouble makers generally dress the part. Their actions speak volumes, especially at the trailheads. Letterboxers usually have a bag that they are trying to conceal or at least conceal one pouch of it. They don't want anyone to see their ink pads I guess. At any rate, today in middle Tennessee it was 28 degrees. We counted 0 hikers, 0 trouble makers, and 6 letterboxers in a span of 5 hours.

What a great idea. And for some reason, it cracks me up. I can see an image of a new stamp in my mind to send you (I really wish I could carve more than coloring book images. One day I will).

I love the idea of retired stamps heading to the south and wish I could participate. But frankly, most of my retired stamps are retired for a good reason! ( in rough shape or weren't decent carvings in the first place). I am becoming a personal stamp snob....in that I am replacing my earliest attempts with better carvings as they go missing.

But if any of my many traveling cooties want to head to another state to hang out...that would be fine with me!
