OK so is it me or is it OK for me to be over the moon about finding another L.B.er on the trail this afternoon, not only that but a new little family jsut starting out....they were just about the cutest thing I had ever seen...ahhh the memories of my cute babies...then for the 1st time my oldest 14 year boy chose to take a trek with me to "find" for his first time instead of going to a dance wiht his friends, and I didn't even ask he was just kind of curious and I was off to the beach at night ...so why not he said...a miracle...I would say so!!!! So to sum up the day my boys and I 5 of us in total at different times of the day in different combinations found 5 L.B.'s and had a wonderfully sweet exchange with a great family , I think we may have a new friend in the process.....this is a great thing that I wish I had had in our lives for years ....better late than never I always say!!!!! Here's to all of you who do such good work and make it soooo much fun for my boys and I each time we venture forth out into a world we are just now discovering!!!!! It has been awesome so far!!!! We are all absolutely hooked and obsessed beyond anything we could imagine! Thanks again you letterboxers you ....our next goal is to place and join the fun in that way , I can't imagine how exciting that will be , we can't wait to find out!!!!

Love and best wishes for a fabulous Holiday Season,
Teekasue and her Call Boy's 1-5

It certainly is ok to be over the moon. Even I would be over the moon to find another LBer on the trail. I have never ever met anyone when out letterboxing (except by pre-arrangement) in all the years I have been hunting.

I spend all my time eyeing up approaching walkers, thinking this might be a boxer - yes they are slowing down - now they are wandering around - yes, it must be a boxer - now they are going behind that bush - Oops no they're not boxers, quick stop watching them.

This is a great story. You just go on and be excited. I remember the excitment of my first find, the thrill of my first plant, I have been boxing only this year and been as far as Missouri and Mississippi from TN, and I had yet to encounter another boxer on the trail until last Friday. He noticed me and made the aproach. The funny thing is neither one of us were boxing at the time. He was checking a trail where I work and I was working. He came up and we started chatting. He is a boxer from my area that I have admired for awhile, there are several, but I never thought I would meet any of them. I guess in my newness they have somewhat of a celebraty status. My 9 year old daughter goes with me everytime I go. She can't get enough. We stepped out last night at 9:00PM to find a close box. We had been there earlier that day, but was missing a piece of info that was vital to solving the clue. We left from there and sought other boxes, then when we got home I found the information and deciffered the clue. I was stoked! I had to go NOW! to get that box. She was ready for bed and my wife was hollering, but we been hollered at before, no big deal. Well, as it turned out we all went. My wife had ulterior motives. She had a sweet tooth. Guess who made the find and got a DQ butterscoth dipped cone?

I love your excitement. It is the same everytime.

I agree with the others (two so far) who have commented and said that, yes, it is more than OK that you are excited. A letterbox became available in our area several months ago, and there were then just a few of us in Spokane to search for it. My sister and I rushed out the next morning, hoping to beat the others to it. One of those letterboxers had been to the last few boxes we'd found right before us, and we speculated on whether we would see him on the trail. Sure enough, we were still looking for the box when that boxer and his daughter and her fiance showed up--which turned out to be a good thing, because they searched where we'd already looked and actually found the box. We'd missed it because it was the first camoflaged box we'd ever encountered. We were absolutely thrilled to meet someone on the trail, and we were able to make our first on-the-trail exchange.

Since then, we've had two more encounters on the trail, both on the same boxing outing. In one of those encounters, we met the boxer mentioned above who was introducing a couple to boxing, and in the other, we met people on the trail whom we also already knew. Both of these encounters were just as wonderful to me as the first one. I think I get as big a kick out of meeting a boxer on the trail as I do when I find that there's a bonus box clue inside a letterbox.

Well to top off the weekend I took the 14 year old my first plant. It is like sending your kid on his first overnighter. I am not sure if I am going to be able to just let it sit till someone finds it. I swear I am going to have to go check on it daily till the first find. I can't very well leave it all alone out there in the cold!! Sick and twisted or sweet and protective?? Either way I am a totally thrilled to have one of the few L.B.'s in my home town planted. Thanks for the support and the reply's ....I am having more fun than I have had in a long long time!!!! Hubby is glad cause he can play W.O.W. to his hearts content....without me nagging him.

Thanks a bunch!

I know how you feel about wanting to go and check!! We just planted our first box last weekend, and it takes everything that I have not to go out there and check on it everyday!!! :)

My hubby wanted to go today and see if it was still there ( he wasn't there when it got planted ), but we didn't get the chance. WE are going to be the ones that get our box muggled!!

Congrats on the first plant, meeting on the trail, and your excitement about the hobby!
