Yesterday my 6 yo DD had just got home from school. She proceeded to unload her pockets of the treasures she had found while at school. After the 6 rocks (very special rocks) that she found on the playground she was still looking in her pockets. I asked her what she was looking for, she said that she had something for me. I of course thought, "Ahhh, how sweet." I asked her what it was, because she couldn't find it. She said, "It's a ladybug." Ewww. I told her gently, so as not to traumatize her, that the ladybug was probably dead. She says, "I know, it was dead when I put it in my pocket."

Yep, that's my baby girl. She likes to cook, wear pretty dresses with bows in her hair, and collect dead bugs.

LOL That's so cute! Sounds like something my girl would do! I think it might be the influence of her two brothers!

Last weekend we found a letterpouch (baggie covered with camo tape) that was full of ladybugs (along with the stamp and logbook.) Don't know if they were dead or just hibernating but I shook them out onto the ground before stamping in.

About a month ago my 10 year old son came out of school with something in his hand. When I asked him what it was he showed me a big wooly bear caterpillar. There was no place between where he came out of school and where he got into my car that he could have found this......so I asked him where he got it. He told me he found it a recess and kept it in his pencil box (which he said he kept open with a pencil so it could breath). He said he showed the rest of the boys in class, but not the girls....he said he knew they would tell on him. We have since released the little critter so he can go on to live a nice life.

I just had my own cutie-moment :-)

Earlier today, when going to his "thinkin' spot" (time out) he argued with my '4-minutes' and insisted on '1 hour'. LOL, ok, you win ;-). Just now when arguing with my '1 hour' time limit on a video game, I finally relented and settled for '60 minutes'- darn, he wins again!

A vex the day the school system will teach him how to tell time!!

I bet you could have gotten away with only 45 minutes in exchange for that 1 hour! I have before...but only on the junky games. On fun stuff (fun for mom!) we can just play all day!

OK. I have to tell my cute kid story, too.

Today, we were driving backroads to a friends house and had to turn around 3 times. We were in the middle of Amish farms and woods. My 2 year old said, "Mom! I can't believe there are so many roads out here!" She cracked me up.
