What do you guys do w/ your leftover Christmas cards. I'm sure most people throw them away but I'm a big softee. "Aw c'mon, great Aunt Martha who I see once a year, if I'm lucky, sent it to me," I say. There's really no sense in keeping them cause I just stick em in the plastic totes w/ the Christmas stuff and store them away til the following year when I add to the pile again, but.....there's gotta be some use for them somehow. Heck, they'll be cool vintage items some day! :)

I use them to make gift tags for the next year. Round about now I take out last year's cards, cut out pretty images from the cards (sometimes getting 3 or 4 images from one card), glue them to green/red/gold/etc. cardstock or construction paper, and write the "To:" and "From:" on the back. Use a hole punch and a piece of ribbon, and *voila!* homemade gift tags. What is especially cool, is you can sometimes find the *perfect* picture to use for a certain person.
Well, there's one idea. What do other people do?

A friend of mine makes darling little origami-ish boxes out of hers. I have no idea how she does it though. They are very cute.

My kids' preschool and Kindergarten teachers collect them--they cut the pictures out and use them the next year for the kids to select and make cards for family, etc. They have them glue the card's picture onto a construction paper card, then decorate around it, put a personal message inside, etc.

I just found this site which has lots of good ideas for old Christmas cards:

I also make gift tags but I bought a tag shaped paper punch so I don't have to cut!
Take care, Orion
