Looking at the stats, there hasn't been any post with as many agrees in over 3 weeks.
This means, officially, that Cyclonic is currently the Most Agreeable Person on AQ!

Actually I have no problem with debate, but when someone outright tells me I have no idea what I am talking about about the things going on in my own city, when they are quoting the worst paper in Alaska as their defense, its an argument not a debate.

And therein lies the fundamental difference between a democracy and a constitutional republic. Or, in this case, a benign dictatorship.

I'm just glad to be out of the crosshairs on this one -- for the time being, anyway.

Might it be somehow possible to exclude the messages that were actually using the buttons to conduct a survey from that statistic?

Which, here in the US, would be taken as an admission of guilt in the lawsuit to follow.

It has nothing to do with either one of those things, and everything to do with the fact that you can't seem to simply express an opinion and let well enough alone. Not every response has to be a freaking novel either.

Actually, I quoted TWO newspapers to support my point- they can't BOTH be the worst, LOL. One of which quoted the bear ranger, whose statements confirmed what I said. Also, check up above- Rules of Conduct- Don's Rules re: Safety. Agrees with what I said. Also, I had an off-board conversation with deniserows about it, she agreed with me, and SHE is a bear expert a wee bit more than you, the transplanted Californian. LOL!

Yep, I agree with you it is a different system.
Note though: a possibly-responsible party can make any sort of medical payments to a victim and that cannot be used as any admission of guilt/liability. Considered sound public policy to get the medical treatment taken care of w/o a donor worrying it will be held against him later.

There are 2 different types of logbooks -there's the letterbox's logbook and the letterboxer's logbook. The vote was about the find/attempts list on the letterbox's logbook - the majority of people didn't want owners hiding that information. At the time, if I recall correctly, it was more of an either/or situation - keep the f/a list or remove it, it would affect everyone's letterbox hides. I like how it is now, as an owner you have a choice about hiding the f/a list. As a finder I have a choice whether I wish to find a box where the owner suppressed the f/a list. Choices/options are nice.
This current discussion is about letterboxer's logbooks. I can see the value in allowing people more control over what information is shared with the public wrt personal logbooks. I will keep my logbook public because, for me, it feels more in keeping with the community aspect of letterboxing.
I see. So now you can hide all of your finds and/or all of your plants. Hiding your plants had me worried but then I realized that if I'm planning a trip I can use the Advance Search to see if you've planted any in a particular state.
