Just a heads up we have 2 months before this event.
A "tradition" started by some guys in Portland is climbing Mt St Helens on Mother's Day in a dresses. Climbing up, then skiing down Mt. St. Helens. Every year about 50 people dress up in their favorite dress, climb Mt. St. Helens and ski down on mother's day. Join us for a fun weekend of climbing and skiing. We will start climbing around 7.00am and make our way to the summit (4500ft in elevation gain), take in the views (of nature and grown men in dresses), then enjoy our ride down the mountain.
I have heard that some are worried about the skiing part.
Don't worry if you don't ski or snowboard you can still do this event if you want. You can glisade (slide down on your tush like sledding just with out a sled) down the mountain or just walk back down.
It's time to start getting in shape to climb a mountain!

learn new things every day on AQ. had I been confronted with the word "glisade", I would have assumed it had to do with "glissando", sliding your finger down (or up) the piano keyboard and hitting every note on the way. I never would have connected it with the activity we poor kids used to do...which we called "bumsliding"

Mystic Dreamer,
You need to create an album on AQ so we can see these pics. I can't quite visualize it...
